Russian invasion of Ukraine

Hiszanswer will be to surrender. It always is.
I mean, much as it would kill me, if I had the power to click my fingers and the fighting would stop immediately and Russia got to keep what has stolen then I would. But it would be on the proviso that they would be prevented from coming back again. That is the only way this can work. They won’t stop coming unless prevented. It’s as simple as that. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

Freeze current lines where they stand. Allow the rest of Ukraine to join NATO/EU. Use frozen Russian assets to rebuild Ukraine. Kidnapped children to be returned.

Sanctions from the west to remain in place as long as Russia continues to occupy Ukrainian territory.

This should be the absolutely bare minimum the west is pushing for.

The tightening of sanctions that Trump recently announced takes place now. China and India expected to stop buying Russian oil. This will cause major disruption to Russia.
I don’t really understand how Trump squares the circle of support for Putin’s peace policy (Russia gets everything) while tightening sanctions. A collapse of the Russian economy helps Ukraine. Russian oil currently selling at 36 dollars a barrel against a Brent crude price of 64.
The sanctions will never be tightened under Trump. It’s all words and no action.

Sounds fair to me, mate.

This whole thing is insanely complex, whichever way you slice and dice the outcome.
I don't think many actually appreciate this, and as I keep saying, if you ignore all the propoganda type news (which I largely do), the frontlines have barely moved in 2 1/2 years, and they've lost thousands of men for what is a effectively a stalemate, whilst losing a considerable part of their main sources of income, due to Ukraine drones breaking up and "debris falling" very strategically on those facilities.

Soz didn't mean to press reply. I was in break.

I follow a couple of military analysts on YouTube over the last couple of years and it's clear the war isn't being won and isn't being lost. Its a cycle of summer offensives, winter digging in, spring offensives etc. We take ground, they take it back.

People are dying in this stalemate. For me when that happens its time to stop the killing and negotiate peace, as ugly as that is.

If the west could support Ukraine properly no problem, but we're not. That's the reality for me anyway, sat here thousands of miles away from it.

Don’t disagree with your sentiments, but the entity that we are negotiating with cannot be trusted. That is the core issue here.

The timing is interesting, suspect Putin knows Trump is about to be exposed by the Epstein files, even if he spins it out for a bit loinger by trying to hold onto key incriminating bits.

When that happens Putin's Kompromat over his most important asset becomes worthless.

So he puts the squeeze on Dirty Donald to try push this through now, and get one last bit of majot value out of his useful idiot.

He knows he is toast either way so it doesn't matter if they make it even more obvious who Trump is working for in an attempt to get the territory he hasn't been able to take in over 3 uears of trying on the battlefield.

Europe need to step up and Putin will get desperate. He needs the War to end so he can rebuild his economy and his army.

I wouldn't bet on this.

There's no way he will sign off to release anything that would damage himself.

It will all be redacted, scrubbed or changed.

Just like in the way they released the 'full' Epstein prison video that was found to have many minutes missing.

It wasn't, hence you are a prick.
Sure we would all love the fighting to stop, but you can't negotiate with a despot. Putin just won't stop without being put under severe pressire, so, as always, the question is:

How do you stop fighting without surrendering?

You and you ilk never answer this point. Ever.
