That foul on Phil is 100% a free-kick outside the box, even if he’d got the ball away. Absolute disgrace that VAR cleared that.
Towards the end of the half, we saw a free kick given on Niko G after he had passed the ball to Doku, same basic principle as the Foden one not given in the box. I just don’t understand the difference. Both players got clattered after getting the shot/pass away, only one was given. I think the ‘tackle’ on Foden was more dangerous than the one given for Niko.
I just don’t know what a foul is anymore. The decisions are just so inconsistent.

Based on chanced, it should have been 4/3 for City. Both teams wasted unbelievably easy chances.

Our defense is very easy to breach, whether through the middle or the flanks, and this needs to be addressed.

We can't keep wasting easy opportunities and expect a positive result

Not sure on tje penalties, foden had already shot then got wiped out, not sure if you mean the handball one as well? If so I think we may have had a case on that one
If Foden had been on the halfway line and already passed the ball surely you would expect a foul to be given ?

What's the difference?

Eh? It’s still a foul if someone has already played the ball you know?

Like, there’s not a rule that says if someone follows through after a pass or shot that a foul cannot be given.

They’re given in every single game all over the pitch - including this one.
Ok so other end Barnes is in shoots its going wide then one of our defenders catches him after he shoots, would you be happy if that was given, in my opinion its not a penalty but that is only my opinion

I hope you are right. But equally most of our lot have been on international duty. I'll stick my neck out, fervently hoping I'm completely wrong, but from what I've seen so far we are getting nothing out of this. So grating because half their cloggers were meant to be out injured, and its worse knowing dips and arse got results here. Why can't we play long balls like we did v them in the 4-0 battering we handed them at the Etihad, Burn isn't playing - use that to our advantage.
Hall and Livramento have made a difference for them he taken a risk with Livramento so wouldn’t be surprised that he’s off soon

One of those games where we might want a little more physicality in midfield, yet you know that would have to come at the expense of a flair player. Best to stick with our principles and hope we can get ahead.

We’re often wide open in the left channel but they’re just as open in the middle when we turn their press. Question of who scores first.
