Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Tough place to play straight out of a break, but still a disappointing performance.

Why is Pep shoehorning Cherki into the starting lineup? Versus the most physical midfield in the league, no less. What happened to players earning a starting spot?

It was going to take something a bit special to win the league before today; I fear today might take us out completely.
That’s exactly while Reinjers was benched. He was not performing and Cherki was given his chance.

Should shut up all those clowns and their "I'm getting treble vibes this season" nonsense in the last few weeks.
This team is a long way short of winning the title unfortunately and away form is patchy.
Some good saves from our GK but flapping at corners and crosses caused us problems.
Gvardiol needs a spell on the bench....should have cleared the ball before they got their winner.
Cherki miles away from being a consistent matchwinner for us.
Good from O'Reilly again.
Haaland & Foden both poor today.
Losing that awful goal just after we equalised was frankly criminal.

Lost that through missed chances, and there were some beezers, I’m not always into this but the ref was poor and the var baffling. As for the comic book var confirmation, genuinely wtaf is that about, that shows no proof whatsoever it’s a cgi image that can be altered, and yes I’ll say it, it most certainly was.

Irritating that. Poor officiating, poor finishing. And it all became very predictable. Both in terms of Newcastle would score and then the way we were playing. All a bit too slow. And just felt like Newcastle wanted it a bit more today. On to Tuesday. Tough place to go. Not the end of the world. Hopefully spurs get a point.

Conned but did squander a few good chances and the draw would have been a fairer reflection. Still early days to completely write off our title credentials.

we don’t have the team to score 3 goals a game and you need that when playing against 12 men every week. Title will be gifted to Arsenal this season.

Not a bad performance but a young team needs greater physical protection, especially when none is forthcoming from the officials. We’ll learn from today, but we just have too many players on the books who offer nothing in the key area of the pitch where battles are won.
