Referees' Performances | 2025/26

He can’t be blamed for the offside (or not) for their goal because it wasn’t his decision

That was the high point of his afternoon

Midfield thuggery goes unpunished all game . How was that not a penalty on Foden ? I can just about understand the handball . Perplexing VAR decision for the winner . Did they draw the line from Ruben's elbow ????? I honestly don't understand that decision and the cartoon characters they shared decades after the event made no sense either . Someone help he out here ?

Bent as a nine bob note. In the first image the ball is leaving the big fellas head and Diaz foot is not in the air. In the second image he seems to be jumping and the big fella and ball are missing. Pure manipulation of the images and different phases of the move to get the outcome. So players can score with their elbow now. I know we didn't play well but for a decision like that from var screams, CORRUPTION

First image the line is not even up to his elbow so even if his elbow could play someone onside it doesn’t line up with the elbow so cannot show that there is space between the line and the elbow

Referee:
Samuel Barrott
Video Assistant Referee:
Craig Pawson

Heard pawson being moaned about previously.

Foden gets taken out after making a pass in the centre circle and the ref will bring it back for a foul and a yellow. But do it in the area after shooting at that’s ok! Bobb taps Tonali’s ankles and is booked whereas Tonality fouled Doku at least three times in the first half alone and while none were a yellow card in isolation, if Bobb gets yellow everyone of Tonsli’s is a yellow. Penalty for handball not given, hand in unnatural position despite it being close to the body. Every corner they were holding, nothing given and don’t get me started on the offside. If we have semi automated offside why did it take so long to reach a decision? Whilst we weren’t at our best we were definitely shafted today.
Need to keep adjusting the semi automatic offside until they get a shot where it actually is offside. No Way in this world was that onside from the shot they showed on tv at the time of the goal.

The embarrassing reaction to those scouse cunts correctly having a goal disallowed by the media- imagine them having to contend with the decisions we get served up on a regular basis. Definite pen on Foden and that was 100% offside - corruption in plain sight.

And you can guarantee there won't be the week long media blow up about it asking if it was the correct decision or not.

It'll be swept under the carpet and forgotten about by morning.

Let's be honest, after the fallout from the Liverpool media 2 weeks ago, we all knew deep down a refereeing performance like that was coming our way in this game.

Was inevitable.

The signs were there when Forest got a perfectly good goal disallowed in the Liverpool game today.

PGMOL are more concerned with saving face regardless if the decision is correct or not.

One of the worst, all-round, officiating displays I've seen.

Big decisions were shocking (pens, their second).

The persistent fouling that was allowed to continue due to not issuing a card to Newcastle players - Joelinton not getting one for running into Bernardo, after repeated fouls was insane.

Dias not being allowed on the pitch straight after we scored, when be stopped the game in the 1st half for a player to tie their boots.

Even the linos were shocking - at least twice they gave us instant flags when they weren't offside. One of which was Doku running into the box which should be allowed to progress as a potential attack.

All round just fucking awful.

I’m not for conspiracies and corruption calls I don’t want to sound as bitter as the red scousers but I do believe the standard of reffing across the board Is utter shite! It’s not corrupt it’s not them against us it’s just shite! You can add bias in there but I think that’s not pre determined that’s just purely bottling it in a tough atmosphere and being scared! It’s weak officiating full stop
You say not corrupt.
How do you explain the clear foul on Foden ?
If the ref missed it Var steps in. If he saw it and said no foul Var steps in.
Anywhere else on the pitch that is given as a foul and a booking. For both the ref and Var to say no foul is beyond reasonable belief.

My belief it’s a foul to and a pen and a booking! I don’t disagree with any of that! But I don’t think it’s corrupt they got it wrong I think they got it wrong cause now they don’t know how to actually officiate second guessing every decision, I also think the lines on the offside again is just a guess work! For me it’s offside but if they can’t call that in a minute give the goal! I’d rather re start the game quicker and get some momentum again then have the delay and the crowd cheer twice and us be up against it and cold waiting around! Just my opinion!
