47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

He’s better than last year ( more or less impossible not to be) but he’s nowhere near the levels of 23/24 and the inconsistency isn’t going away
 
Foden is a top talent.

Play him out wide, just negates what he is great at, finding pockets space exploiting them and he's scored a few bangers for you guys. Playing 10 is his position MC or England.

Think Marmoush a debate maybe few you agree or not, player talented and very game changing also.
 
You guys know if he gets the ball centrally he will generally be close to finding a pass for Haaland.

He body of work any MC highlights will back that up.

Creative players any team the easiest to question, when a draw or loss, to me you have a fantastic player to build around, like Haaland, Donnaruma if stays fit those three be least MC issues.

I swear some just look for negatives from our players! Foden been very good this season just because he misses a few chance doesn’t mean he has been poor! He gets targeted for a reason!
 
Phil has al the talent in the world but he isnt the young kid any more and he needs to start defining big games for us. We have invested in him literally and metaphorically. Time to really deliver week in week, season after season. He will want a huge new deal but he needs to deliver accordingly. Still time to get to this level but this and next season are key for him.
 
Still getting kicked out of games, not his fault of course but I liked it when he was showing a bit of needle against Liverpool. If the refs won't protect you give a bit back.

You have spent way more on many players that have not produced.

Foden is MC, core.

Put him on the market lots clubs try sign him.

He has defined big games for you already.

I think he's undeniably a bit lightweight and is going to lose most physical duels vs the likes of Joelinton.

I honestly think he's still playing with too much naivete as well. He tries to stay on his feet all the time when fouled, it drives me nuts just go down you lemon. You literally never get rewarded for staying on your feet when fouled, you just don't get the free kick/penalty and the player doesnt get booked.
 
If MC say had Arsenal defence this season, what wins games?

Bits of switching play and trying to gamble on third man runs and ability to at least work the GK, Foden does that he's a player that any side be happy to have.

The whole team except Doku tend to do that, always shooting when off balance after being fouled and getting nowt.

He literally doesn’t. He barely assists Haaland . Haaland already has a better connection with Cherki. I think after sometime we can stop claiming that Foden is a very creative 10. he isn’t. He is a scorer not someone who opens up the game for others

Foden MC plays against very deep blocks agree or not? I'm calling as neutral he is a fantastic player.

Doku same very creative.

Haaland is the best 9 in the world both Foden, Doku games I've watched supply him.

It's maddening, probably why we get less pens then everyone else! If phil just touches the ball ahead of schar instead of taking the low percentage, off balance shot, its a pen.

Well if you dont think Foden is a quality player fair enough, very high bar you are setting.

Serious question to you and other MC fans what valuation you would put on Foden?

I'd go 80m plus.

Was a pen all day long for me, Schar challenge, no chance winning the ball and he was late.

Potentially, but I do remember a few years back everyone was obsessed with foden needing to slow his game down and control things, in doing so I think you lose some of that burst of energy and skill

He'll only get sold if he has a couple years like last season and if that happens he won't be worth much. Foden in full flight is priceless to City. Hard question to answer really.
