It's time to ban drums from the Etihad

No its time for us to actually come up with a way of creating some form of atmosphere that competes with it , had Hamburg brought a drum all those years ago would we have heard it?, no because back then we actually made some noise , current fan base are incapable of making an atmosphere and constantly look to blame other things as to why , split tiers, acoustics and now its the drums fault , need to look internally for the solution.

Thats why we need our vocal end in the North stand, but politics will probably fuck it up.

Yes ban the drums so we can all sit in total lifeless silence.
Thats not true, there is plenty of atmosphere at the majority of games no drum.

Someone banging receptively on a drum does not improve the atmosphere in fact the opposite

Even watching games on Tv when there is an idiot in the crown banging away makes it unwatchable

Even without a drum the Ultras would outsing us on the evidence of last night's pathetic home support.

Our CL crowds are not the same as our PL crowds. If the club banned drums again, like they did previously, it wouldn't make a difference to our non existent support on a CL night.
We’ve commented on here since 2023 how much better it’s been on CL nights without the away drums and how much easier it is to get our own songs going without drums overbearing the rhythm and volume of our songs.

Look at this post and the posts for about a page after it from the atmosphere thread after the Napoli game in September:

We outsung Napoli just two months ago.

CL nights for two years were better for atmosphere and much more enjoyable to be in attendance than the last two games with the drum. The drums have ruined both nights for me.

The rhythm and volume of the away drums are what stops us creating an atmosphere. Our vocal areas where almost all songs start are thirty feet either side of that drum, far too close to it for any songs six lads try and start off at the back of 011 or 015 so they are lost to the drum and nobody hears our songs starting.

I’ve heard of City fans having phone chargers and vapes confiscated on thorough searches where they’ve even had to take their shoes off when entering stadiums in Europe. We can’t take a bottle cap into the main bowl of the stadium as home fans at the Etihad, yet away fans are taking in drums, drum sticks and megaphones.

We need to go back to stopping allowing the drums In.

Didn't they do it last season against Club Brugge?
Apologies I realise my wording was a bit confusing.

They banned drums completely, the Bayern game was just the first game that this rule came into effect.

The first team to bring a drum after the ban was Dortmund last month, which brought back every problem the ban had solved.

This was the thread I started before the Bayern game 2 years ago. Look at how well received it was when the club followed through and banned them from bringing in a drum. Why the fuck would they reverse this decision!

From the OS:

Backpacks, holdalls, rucksacks, or other similar items of any size, large or small, will not be allowed into the stadium. Small handheld bags, no larger than A4 size (12”x8”x3”) will be accepted.

Bags bigger than A4 are not allowed in the Etihad Stadium. If you do have a bag bigger than A4, consider storing it at an off-site location by clicking this link. Etihad visitors get 10% off using the code ETIHAD10

If you must bring a bag to the stadium that exceeds the allowable size, the bag storage facilities are available on the Orange car park that you can use to securely store your items will be in place until the match has finished. The bag storage is priced at £10 per item.

So why the fuck can away fans bring in huge drums that suck the life out of any atmosphere from the home fans. Home teams used to and probably still do try ever6 trick in the hook to unsettle away teams. Fuck me certain clubs still have an exemption to not offer pitch side seats or have large screens. But not City, we allow away fans to make themselves at home to the detriment of the club. Pretty much made my mind up to sack off CL next season. Bloody expensive, midweek late kick offs, surrounded by away fans, drum going thud all match and Pep taking the piss with his team selection.
Don't forget the megaphones
