Arsenal thread | 2025/26

That’s the first decent team Arsenal have played in this years UCL - and they were at home.
Um, we bummed Atletico 4-0 who just beat last season's finalists Inter.

We were amazing tonight - could have had 5. And to think that's with no striker. Obviously, as we know better than anybody no medals are handed out before Xmas ao it's about keeping the focus.

I'd 100% prefer the PL over the CL though - best team doesn't always win the CL - best team always wins the PL.

Have Arsenal stumbled on the right formation?

Still a long way to go but they could win the CL.
To be honest at this moment in time I think tjey could win the lot, they are winning games comfortably and barely conceding, just come off the back of a Derby, and just smashed bayern, we can all put our fingers in our ears and go lah lah lah, or admit they are good

Arsenal also had a 13 year old come off the bench in the same game - youngest ever UEFA Champions Youth League player.

As much as I can't stand you cunts, you're obviously doing something right down there. Your first team is reminiscent of the dipper team we faced as well.

Be interesting when gyorkeres is fit. I think merino playing the false 9 working really well and is giving you overloads and space for Eze. Also what to do with odegaard? Nice problem to have I suppose.

Seem unstoppable atm. Still early but you can’t deny they look good all over the pitch.

Can’t blame anyone but ourselves I’m afraid. At some point other teams were naturally going to have better squads.

See if we can at least put up some fight. A good run now through Christmas would be great.

Yeah, it's hard to post without seeming smug, and that's not my intention but I don't see how Odegaard gets back in. Re Gyokeres he's vastly superior to Merino - he's no Haaland but he's a battering ram that the ball 'sticks' to and occupies the central defenders creating space for the wingers. Havertz also to come back as well as Gabby Jesus. And of course our main attacking weapon Gabriel!

I actually think the deep squad works for us in 2 ways. Firstly cover for injuries/rotation but also it raises competition so the players have to deliver every match or they will be out of the team. Realistically only Rice is truly guaranteed to start (and Gabriel when fit). The rest have to fight for their spots.

It will depend on what happens against Chelsea but they could easily be viewed as champions elect going into New Year. The worrying thing is if they start to pull away and look like pissing the league (10pt plus gap) then they can rest/rotate and prioritise the Cup competitions giving them a great shot at a double or treble.

Comfortably the best team in the league. CL is a different kettle once it gets to the knockout stages. Liverpool were also winning every game last season in the group stages.

They were excellent last night. Brilliantly organized and played some good stuff.
They‘ve built a really strong squad, and the ‚lesser’ players can plug into the system easily.
Annoying, but impressive.
