I was thinking after the Leverkusen result that who would be the one best player we could add to the current team from previous years?
But then not the obvious Colin Bell, Mike Doyle, etc.
Not saying those from historical eras wouldn't be good but players from recent times would be proven to play in the modern game.
Yaya would add that box to box power we're missing.
Vinny would add defensive steel.
Aguero for making a goal from nothing.
Tevez just for being Tevez.
But in my thinking, the one who'd add most in areas we're missing is Fernandinho.
He was king of the sneaky foul, breaking down the opposition and being the leader. When the opposition were breaking he was the one who would come to the rescue and stop the play, either winning the ball in a fair tackle or accidentally tripping the attacker.
We're missing Rodri and Kovatic as back up through injuries, and everything good goes through Rodri.
We've got skillful players in Foden, Cherki, Doku, but that little "being a twat" that Fernandinho brought isn't there.
