Antoine Semenyo | Considering triggering the £65m release (p13)

Disagree. He's trading off 1 goal at Newcastle 2 years Lightweight, no pace, doesn't score goals, rarely puts a decent cross in - would've been a mainstay of the team in the Stuart Pearce years but we've moved on from players of Bobbs level, or at least we should have if we are serious about competing at the top end. Am sure Bobb's a lovely lad and all that but I just don't see the level needed in him at all.

Hasn’t played enough games at top level to fully judge! There are a lot of examples where players come good at total different ages! How many 90mins had he played in the premier for us?

Saying that think a good loan would do him a lot of good! Has to go somewhere he will play or it’s a waste of time..

Anderson @ 80-90M

Savinho @ 50M
Lewis @ 30M

That’d be a good 65-75M window, with a RB and young utility midfielder either coming through or plucked from European obscurity in the summer!

He wasn’t wank when he was scoring every other game was he? There’s a player in him but Pep doesn’t want to use him
His general play was yes. A good hatrick against Newcastle boosted his numbers well but has never particularly impressed in terms of touch or vision

We do not need to buy ANY attacking players. Haaland, Foden, Cherki, Bobb, Marmoush, Savinho and emerging talents like McAidoo, Mukasa and Heskey do not need adding to with expensive buys because they look the business on MOTD.

If we need ANY additions, it is a physical beast in the centre midfield, and that is under the assumption that Rodri cannot return to anything like his best form because with him and Gonzalez fit, and the potential of O'Reilly to join that (bringing Mfuni through), even that is doubtful.

Personally, I advocate patience, not purchases.

Savinho needs binned ASAP and Bobb needs at least a loan somewhere.

Would it surprise anyone if Savinho, Bobb and Marmoush are gone by start of next season?

You take advantage of market conditions, if this lad is available for this price then you have to go for it.

Agree with this. Very surprised we went for a player his age who had only had one good season in his career up to that point.

Could still turn out ok, but a big risk at the price we paid. Understand that it's difficult to attract forwards seeing as they all must know Haaland will play whenever fit.

I would agree with you but Semenyo is not going through a purple patch or just a show of form. He's been one of the best wingers in the prem now for 3 seasons and has just gone under the radar. He's not quite stylish or a shirt seller name but he's effective.

1st season he got 8 goals , 2nd season he got 11 goals and so far he's on 6 this season in the premier league. For 65 million your getting a winger that's improving each season and producing the numbers. He also provides assists.

I remember Mane at Southampton was doing the same.

If we can hang on until summer for the money,
we will be getting a few bob from the probable sales of Ake, Grealish, Akanji.
I'd prefer to hang on to the younger players in the hope that some of them will come good.

Spurs are willing

Are they? I really struggle to believe they offered the number quoted in summer. And regardless of whatever the offer actually was then, his stock has plummeted since AND we've put him on bigger wages in that time too.

Cant imagine any fans of any other club being particularly excited at the prospect of him coming in for £50m.

Get him in he’s got pace, power, he’s direct, and he’s not afraid to take on a man. I just hope Pep doesn’t turn him into another cut-back or pass-back-to-the-defence type of player. We desperately need to become less predictable. If we can move Savio on in January, this could turn out to be a really good deal.

Might stand out in a Bournemouth team but would he be good at City?

Is he consistantly good? Or is he one of those players where he plays well every 3 or 4 games and then gets highlights on sky and social media?

Maybe I'm jaded that we went for the current top player in Germany in Marmoush, and the same in Italy with Reijnders. It hasn't worked out for them or us so far.
