City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

If it was a Leeds fan with the broken leg the city fan be banned before they left the stadium and there would be no cover up story on the clubs social media

Club are pushing to ban a fan reacting to protests outside the ground but happy for stuff like this to go on.

They are a disgrace

What struck me in that article is apparently the club let opposition fans in 93:20 so long as they behave themselves
It is not unusual for opposition fans to be invited to corporate areas. As far as I know it happens at every club. On occasions I have been to LFC and MUFC in corporate and there were plenty of City fans but we behaved respectfully....at least till the Brightwell screamer at the swamp. I once got invited to corporate at Leeds by a City fan who worked in Leeds. It was all very civilised. In fact I had a few beers with our legendary supporter, John Stapleton RIP, there. The issue here looks more like a security failure.

I'll comment - but this thread will likely be pulled in the next couple of hours.
All clubs allow opposition supporters in the Corporate areas - I've done it with people I know at Liverpool - but you're given guidelines on attire and behaviour. Some people unfortunately can't help themselves
What I've seen from the weekend is inexcusable though. There was a video on the original Danny Wilson thread of loads of Leeds celebrating in the Colin Bell when they scored that is in NO way acceptable as they clearly weren't in that area as guests of City fans

Something has to change, because the club’s decision-makers clearly aren’t up to the job.

Protests only seem to matter when they’re convenient for the club. We're not even halfway into the season and we've already dealt with the Spurs home game mess, the North Stand silence, the Ticket Transfer silence, and now this.

Commenting purely on the standard of the social media response by the club and not the incident itself… but it’s amateur hour and I suspect questions will have been asked this morning.

“the injuries were nowhere near as serious as the inaccurate rumours which have circulated online”

The language and tone there is dreadful and not what you would expect from a comms professional.
Quite bizarre.

Yep, it was a really strange response from the club.

The Comms person needs sacking. Feel sorry for the fan and his family reading that whilst being laid up with a broken leg couple weeks to Christmas.

Disagree.

It reads very much like it was written by someone very inexperienced at dealing with this type of situation.

Blame the club for putting that person in a position to post something that reflects so badly on the club.

You just can't have away fans mixed in with home fans, you just can't. Anybody with a modicum of football knowledge knows this. Well anybody except our club it appears. They can call areas hospitality, corporate or any mumbo jumbo they want. Its football with all the passion and intense rivalry that goes with it. When it comes to certain clubs I'd add hatred to that list. Should it be that way? No, probably not, but it is whether the club and football authorities like it or not. Leeds are on that list. Any fool would know it wouldn't take much to spark trouble if you've got fans of both those clubs mixed together. Unfortunately City don't give a fuck these days, it's all about the money. As a result of this policy more of our fans will get hurt and more trying to defend themselves and fellow blues will get banned. End of story.

Is there an official body we can coordinate a complaint to regards city not adhering to the safety rules of the stadium by allowing 3rd parties to sell tickets to anyone and circumnavigate the supposed safety restrictions us fans have in place to stop us selling to away fans? This must be illegal on safety grounds?
Yes there is. The Sports Ground Safety Authority and the local council's Safety Advisory Group.

Absolutely awful that this has happened. The club should absolutely be held accountable for allowing it to get to this point.

I genuinely feel like something awful is going to happen when Galatasaray get here and it's going to be a massive wake-up call for the club.

I was there for Feyenoord last year and Dutch fans who were absolutely wasted were being carried out all around me. Turkish fans aren't exactly the most inconspicuous.

And as has been mentioned, any City fan fighting back is risking up to a lifetime ban because they've employed a bunch of traffic cones as stewards who aren't going to handle this.

What's the betting the blues have been banned! They need free corporate hospitality for the rest of the season not being gaslighted on social by the club. If a broken leg suffered at a football match is classed as a serious injury then what the fuck is?

The club are please to announce that Rodri has suffered an ACL but it's not as serious as being reported. The same for Oscar Bobb's leg and KDB's hamstring tear is just a mere irritant!

FFS City sort the bloody comms out, I will do it if you have nobody else capable of doing it.

I’m not talking about board I’m asking that they issues MORE SEASON TICKETS
I'm honestly not sure if you've quoted the wrong person here as you've lost me a bit, that said they are issuing 4,000+ FG's next season.
It's common practice now that sites ask you to solve a puzzle or click a box to prove you're a human, how do these bots circumvent that? and if they can't stop them doing it isn't it time we stop having to jump the hurdle too?
No idea TBH but I do know that if they just opened it up that no single person is going to beat the bots.
