Just joined the thread, the biggest difference with Foden now than with the past year or so is he's got rid of that flippin' bandage. He's been set free and it shows. A different player.

Phil or Wirtz. Who is better?

Just checked; tonight is our 14th PL game of the season. 5 clean sheets. Our defence is certainly the weak link on the team.
I’ve always been a fan of the Joe Mercer theory of football. It doesn’t matter how goals we concede in a game as long as we score more. As long as we keep winning it really doesn’t matter what our opponents do.

Maybe it's a coping strategy for many people ? How can you not enjoy those 3 goals we scored and being 3-1 up away ?
3 good goals against one of the best teams at home in the league and we concede a well taken goal and some lose their shit.

Let's just hope Foden's second can appease the usual weekly bed wetters on here.

Football is a game of mistakes and giving the ball away, by default. It can’t not be when it’s played with a ball which is played with your feet and you can’t run with it in your hands.

The opportunity to retrieve possession from the opposition quickly and regularly is one of the things that makes football exciting.

Even at our high possession best from a few years back, every few minutes someone would give the ball away sloppily which is why we’d only have 70% possession and not 95% possession.

Fast football games like tonight, with both teams playing sharply and getting up and down the pitch very quickly, will see both teams giving the ball away a lot.
You can't lose the ball in that situation. It's really that simple. It happens too often with regards to Nunes and Gvardiol. Cutting that out of their game will make City a much more formidable team.
