Fulham (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Run that by me again in english please :)
Happy chapper hahaha

We won, mate!
We are 2nd in the league, the highest goalscorers.
What more do you want?

Happy to get all three points, appalled by the second half performance.

I'm avoiding listening to Pep's post match interview. I'd probably smash the TV screen if he said he saw anything positive after our fifth goal.

Absolutely shite. Completely dominated by Fulham for 60 minutes.

Couldn’t get hold of the ball for an entire half of football and spent the whole time aimlessly giving it away whilst conceding goal after goal.

Donnarumma is absolutely terrible at crosses.

The fact that a 4 goal lead against a team in the bottom half of the table isn’t a safe margin shows how weak this new team is. It’s a mess.
We were not completely dominated by Fulham for 60 minutes and the result suggests that a 4 goal lead WAS a safe enough margin - we won without the need to score again - so trying to claim that it's a "fact" that it wasn't is absurd.

Let’s not be too harsh. We hit the inside of the woodwork twice and their first two goals were class finishes.
3 points is all that matters. If we were 4-0 down and came back to win 5-4 we’d be happy.
Few issues obviously but be happy with a win

Come on Yim
Sometimes he can’t push the ball down the line and run after it. He needs a break and hopefully he rebuilds his confidence

Come on Tim, rebuild what confidence.

Their subs came on and nearly won the game.

Ours came on and nearly lost it, from 5 - 2 up!

He had opportunities to break, play a ball through, hold it up but he lost it every time apart from that 1 cross. That should have given him confidence but it didn't.

Waste of time bringing him on, he's fucking awful this season.

Mentally and physically weak - can’t retain possession - every team we play makes 2 or 3 subs and we can’t cope - 20 decent minutes out of 100 again - regressed so much in last 2 seasons - don’t expect to win everything every year but should at least be competitive and consistent

Some want wins with the perfect performance, and absolutely no jeopardy.
I think the issue is, what were we actually trying to do in that second half? If we’d defended deep, like at Arsenal, we’d not have conceded 3. If we’d left ourselves wide open because we were all out attacking, we might have conceded 2/3 but would likely have scored 7/8. As it happened, we didn’t do either of those things, which is odd.

We need to remember that players need rest, they need to be took off on certain minutes to avoid long term injuries.
No doubt Rodders playing them 3 games in a week did him no favours but now he's paying the price.
Dropping Cherki in for 10mins here and there is beneficial to his fitness. We're coming off the back of that club world cup bollocks and Pep said he doesn't know how it will damage us long term.
We're trying to rotate players and keep them fresh which unfortunately will show in performances but as long as we keep posting 3pts on the board then it's all good.
Hopefully come the 2nd half of the season we can push on and play the better players for longer periods.
And 3...2...1...and you're back in the room.

Same as Saturday, no balls and no bottle. That was a profoundly unprofessional performance from the manager down in the second half. The fact we've taken the points is hardly the point. I think Pep is on one long brain fart at the moment, this is down to him, the sub decisions are week-in week-out bordering on ludicrous although the players on the pitch are all being paid eye-watering sums of money every bloody week to put on shows like that?? Embarrassing.
