Fulham (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

A truly madcap game where it felt like just about every shot went in. Thankfully - somehow - we survived and got the points. Was on the 2nd row so got soaked but left simply relieved we escaped. Phil was different class, Erling sharp as a tack and Cherki made an important contribution being the sub who came on and had the stones to hold the ball, keep possession and look to get into their half which was our best way of defending.
 
That game could of ended 7-5. For the neutral fan a great game. For City we got a lot to sort out the defence seems to be a issue. Nunes needs resting. He was showing signs of being able to defend but now silly errors are leading to goals. I think we will get a stronger spine once Rodri is back him will bring a bit of calm if we can get him on the pitch.
Rijanders took his goal well looked to have a bit of sparkle also Phil and Haaland was key in a lot of things even if he only scored once. We now are getting goals from elsewhere.

Least we can't be called dull and boring no more.

Should of been 4/5 up in first half, and scored many more in the 2nd but thats football.

Some sensational goals from both sides tonight.

Our subs were poor, sadly John Stones no longer has the pace to keep up, Savinho should be nowhere near the 1st team squad.

If we are struggling to cover Nico G, then ffs put Kalvin Philips in the squad at least.

Despite scoring, Reijnders was anonymous for majority of the game.
Silva was absolutely lost out there, awful performance from the Captain.
Dias, Gvardiol and NOR were in no man’s land every time there was a ball into our box.
Foden, Doku and Haaland were brilliant.
Savio and Stones had hall of shame cameos. Weak from the pair of them.

Love Doku but he was abdolute pants tonight.

That’s the best anyone has played against us anywhere for years. Well played Fulham, very well played.

Goals were superb, and we could have had at least three more (Haaland post twice, Gvardiol squaring it in a 1on1).

If football was played like that every week, with both teams going at it like that, nobody would ever watch another sport. No pretend head injuries, no long throws, no long punts up field, no taking 55 second to take a corner, no goalkeepers having a sit down for a time out on the sideline, no hint of one team camping in their box with no ambition to attack making it a cagey 1-0 either way… just two teams going at it.

I wish we could revert back to just keeping the ball old style peps way of playing. Possession football. Mix and match it . Keep possession pass it around and see these games out. We can do this surely? My heart can’t take much more.
