Strange that, for a tall fella, his goal percentage from headers is (in my opinion) a bit on the low side. I suppose the counter to that could be that we don't put in as many high crosses in open play as other teams.
Anyway, well done big guy, here's to the next 100!

Tall players are no more likely to be good at heading the ball than short players.

Look at players like Gerd Müller (5’9”), Carlos Santanilla (5’9”), Kevin Keegan (5’8”), Les Ferdinand (5’11”), Shane Long (5’11”), Falcao (5’10”)… none of them were tall but they were great headers (/headerers?) of the ball.

Phil Foden (5’7”)’s headed goal at Brentford was elite standard. I’d be hard pushed to find a headed goal by any big man of the quality of Phil’s at Brentford.

I think Haaland has improved his heading technique and timing. I didn’t think he was a good header (/headerer?) of the ball when he first came to us. He often jumped too early and was heading it on the way down.

I'm never sure if he's bad in the air or that he reaches balls that no one else would get to and so is criticised harshly. It's not our primary way of attacking so I wouldn't expect him to score loads of headers, but he's certainly missed some he should score because he doesn't time his jump. Often he's having to get lower than is comfortable because of his height too.

He scores a ton of headers, he just scores a shit load more goals with his feet than everyone else too.

Look at how often the best headers of the ball scored a header.

Crouch has the record for most headed goals, 53, and he scored 1 every 9 games.
Shearer is second, 46, he scored one every 10 games.
Dublin is 3rd, 45, 1 in 7
Kane, 40, 1 in 8
Les Ferdinand, 40, 1 in 9
Haaland 17, 1 in 6.5

So he scores more headed goals per game than any of the best headers in PL history.
