City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

We shouldn't be acting like naughty needy children, it's obvious the club doesn't give a fuck and we don't need their permission to call them out for being cunts.

It's not the first time they can't/wont read the room, all they had to do in this instance was shut the fuck up but that's too hard for them to do, it makes you wonder if the people making the decisions actually like City fans.

I doubt you will as won't be his remit.
Your quesrion was about matchday security.
I would think his role is related to kids training at the academy, visitors such as the stadium tour and city in the community outreach
I asked him in the email if this wasn’t his area then could he forward it on to whoever it does concern? I’m not surprised I didn’t get a reply to be honest.

Or maybe make the tickets more accessible to city fans - i.e cost, ease of transfer etc and fuck off these 3rd party sites. Why should away fans have extra £30 seats when city fans are prohibited from going because they would have to pay double
They would have to get inventive, the home section already expands in that stand when the away team dosent fill it & contracts for cup games
Maybe discounted unreserved seat season tickets. Wouldnt be any worse than on a champions league game with thousands of extra tourists trying to find a seat ;-)
Premier League/Health & Saftey probably wouldnt allow a cash turnstile, but cheaper tickets in an unreserved stand would appeal to some of our fans

Not at all mate. His role involves kids and adults. On City's safeguarding page it states to contact the club on safeguarding matters and if you don't feel like you've had the appropriate response then contact the Premier League. If his role was about kids training or stadium tours they wouldn't be advising that.

This is from City's safeguarding policy -

"When anyone comes to take part in an activity with Manchester City, whether at the Etihad Stadium, City Football Academy with City in the Community or any other venue, we make a promise to them - the City Promise."

There's also a "Bringing your children to a match" safeguarding policy on the same page

I have emailed the club twice about complaints (line cleaner/bleach for a pint - and one ticket matter). The ticket matter was resolved on the day of the game. The former email was replied to, to say they'd look into it, and then nothing.

The bigger an organisation, the more disorganisation.

It wouldn't surprise me that City sell Oasis tickets for the impending homecoming gigs, but sell them to Blur fans. And in the wrong stadium.

When your in some of these corporate sections does it say on the ticket be respectful regarding celebrating if your not a Man City fan!

We were in Tunnel Club a few weeks ago. Nothing on the email or ticket, when I click on "Match Information" on the email it takes me to the City website, again nothing on there that mentions it directly.

Interestingly though I did find this when I went down a rabbit hole -

"Away fans or colours are not permitted anywhere in hospitality."

I remember the dress code and that wording from a few years ago , when I got tickets to tunnel club vs Spurs.
I was rather shocked when spurs scored and many people around me leapt from the comfy seats to celebrate - up till that point I’d assumed, due to that wording, that all hospitality was City, or at worst City fans with a random Spurs acquaintance.

another thing from that visit was the amount of complimentary tickets sponsors get and then give out to nonCity fans. I was sitting next to an Acronis (sponsor) guy, (contractor from Eastern Europe) who had no affiliation with City other than he worked for the sponsor company. He said he’d been to a load of games, but wasn’t that much into football/city but he had lots of friends/relations who wanted to come (I think he implied that the number of actual City fans was quite small). He seemed to be in charge of the tickets Acronis got, and said quite often they just went to waste (eg ‘smaller’ games), entirely. I think they had 8 corporate per game.
Shame :-( - many blues would snap up the wastage, especially as it’s already paid for

Good job there was no soc media in the 70s, 80s, a whole site would be filled with just City v Leeds home and away. I remember seeing the cool cats nick a Leeds fans trainers, coat.

Maine Road was intimidating and not exactly safe for many home fans using their cars.

Spent a recent hol listening to a City fan my age singing every day in his new kit about the club he sacked off as an attendee over 5 years ago.

Is he better than a tourist who in this day and age could well be local, a student etc? He clearly wasn't skint.

Stewards certainly need to be firmer with away fans in the wrong seats.

More importantly bring back a Manchester rather than Mumbai, Shanghai centric Junior Blues movement!

I was in the Citizens suite before the Everton game. Gary Owen was compering and give a little brief at the start basically accepted away fans but for them to be respectful and don’t jump up etc

They were excellent at shutting the F-ck up regarding UEFA and the treatment of City fans in Istanbul.
When we needed a voice.

It's not that they don't like us, it's just that the number in the spreadsheet cell named 'LegacyScutter' is a tenth of the value of the one in the cell named 'ShinyTourist'.

"It's not personal, it's just business" - said every snake ever.

Yep, it was like that in 2008 when I was last in corporate, Citizens, and Gary was the compere back then - he’s excellent.

Nothing’s changed it seems.

God forbid that there's another Britpop war.
Fans could be beaten to a Pulp...

There are a lot of people with foreign origins living in Manchester now and that is no bad thing. Why does nationality bother so many blues? It should be irrelevant.

We need to grow our fanbase regardless of race and nationality. All genuine Blues are welcome.

Pete was right that we are lucky not to see trouble anywhere near on the scale of the 70s and 80s. Long may that continue.
