Will we win the league this season?

I actually think we have more chance finishing bottom half than we do winning the league.

We have regressed so badly, especially on the road, that I can’t see us getting even a point away at any of Liverpool, United, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Spurs, Palace and Chelsea.. and can’t even see us beating the likes of Forest, Everton or Sunderland on the road.

That means we need to pick a lot of points up at home to even compete for European places. We haven’t beaten Arsenal or Liverpool at home since the treble season so can’t see that changing.

Going to be a very tough season resulting in rebuilding again after our first failed attempt at a rebuild.
You ok kidda?

Two ways of looking at this.

One, Arsenal have ticked off nearly all their difficult away games and still look like the most rounded team.

BUT, we have been shite and are basically neck and neck going into Christmas with Arsenal, for another season running, leaving too many questions about whether they're killers. With Rodri to come back in, goals being spread around the team, and us looking hungry for...something.

Proper title race, though. That's all I wanted us to do in this first part of the season, keep ourselves alive. Couple of funny results over Christmas and half the league will think they're in a title race.

Have some humble pie on me, squire.

Assuming we play to our best and you find your hard games tough, I'd go:
CityArsenal
Leeds (H) - WinChelsea (A) - Draw
Fulham (A) - WinBrentford (H) - Win
Sunderland (H) - WinVilla (A) - Loss
Palace (A) - LossWolves (H) - Win
West Ham (H) - WinEverton (A) - Draw
Forest (A) - WinBrighton (H) - Win
Sunderland (A) - WinVilla (H) - Win

18 points City - Losing to Palace (A)
14 points Arsenal - Drawing to Chelsea (A), Everton (A) and losing to Villa (A).

I think the timeslot of the Everton game makes it tough for you.

I also think our Sunderland (A) game is a lot easier than it was for you, they have 8 or 9 at AFCON. 4 of which started against you and 2 came on.

That's my optimistic view, realistic is we get about the same points.
6/6, hope I'm wrong with the Palace prediction but it's a tough game.

they are lucky they have wolves next, if we can beat palace I see the toffees holding them to a draw then we can overtake them at top if it happens the tarquins arses will twitch

There is at least one remaining ...

The fun thing about this thread is scrolling back a couple of pages to call out some clown that has completely overreacted in the heat of the moment during a past match weekend that didn’t go our way. Stay tuned while I find someone…

There was far too much flapping and bedwetting on here after the last two games and maybe there’ll be too much hubris tonight.

It just goes to show that it’s not how you win that counts, only that you win.

9 points in a week puts the cat firmly amongst the pigeons.

2 months ago, it was Liverpool’s to lose, 2 weeks ago it was Arsenal’s to lose. Now the press are claiming Villa might be candidates, but no mention of City.
Good. Long may they continue to underestimate us coming into the 2nd half of the season.
This is where we frequently put 14 match winning streaks together.

Were currently on a 3 match streak.
