Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

What a weird game. Poor for the first half hour, could easily have been 2/3 down. Then nicked a goal and looked dangerous often but wide open and asking for trouble at times. They're a shadow of their former self, luckily. Great result, not a great performance but a win away in the Bernabeu is decent.

We desperately need Rodri back or find a DM in January, if we are going to challenge for either of the big prizes this season!!
What does nico have to do for you to rate him, hes outstanding.

Weird game tbh,far from our best but beat real Madrid in their own back yard while looking comfortable.
Referee was a joke, how rudiger didn't get a 2nd yellow will be one of life's mysteries.
Very happy tonight, come on the blues.

great result and a dogged performance against a team who just try to cheat at every opportunity.

Nico G again in midfield was pivotal and NOR was great ....Doku never stopped trying

We werent at our best (we were much sharper against Sunderland) and Madrid were poor except on the breakaway but all that matters in the CL is the result.

Subs werent great again....Pep now clearly knows his preferred 11 and I dont think there is much room for changing that in any position at present as there is a drop off in class the moment we start to make subs.

Thank goodness for VAR. The ref was doing his best to screw us over there
If he was going to do that he could have stuck to his decision for the Haaland penalty. There were a few dodgy tackles from both sides very near the edges of the penalty area.
Got the Nunes one wrong but VAR used correctly and over ruled.

I’m so glad Bellingham didn’t come here. What a twunt. I don’t believe a single exasperated facial expression he makes. He’s just in it for himself & everything is for the cameras.
He has his head down too much as well..top players scan, and have the head up when still keeping hold of the ball... he doesn't, big weakness for a midfield player - wish Liverpool had bought him! O'Reilly though what a game, and Doku..again...after his first 15 mins of looking shaky .. he was immense. Well done blues - unexpected win out there tbf ..makes up for Pep's fk up at home last time. One thing for sure though is that we do not have anywhere like 2 x competitive 11's... key players out we are pretty average.. I know Rodri is hard to replace but his calmness, leadership by doing the simple things well..we miss him terribly
