Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

They looked a long way from "The Best in Europe" to me, tonight, after a decent start, I thought they were dreadful.
Yes but this is reamadree we're talking about, they are like mancheshireyooniti.
My point was that every tourist fan and every media tosser, fuck everyone says they are the best. If we had lost tonight, everyone would have wanked over them. Because we won its not how good we were but how poor they were.
Let's not talk about how bad they were, leave that to the sycophants.

Great, gutsy and clever performance to get the win at one of the hardest places to do so.

However TNT can fook right off. Apart from that twat Darren Fletcher saying 'Bernabayoo' every 30 seconds, the other pundits could not wait to diminish the result. Real Madrid apparently down to the bare-bones etc etc.

If that was the Dippers winning 2-1 it would have been held up as a memorable European night and the top result of the decade. Fuck off TNT.

I just want to give a shout out for O'Reilly. Incredible presence of mind to stay calm and knock the ball in under pressure while keeping it away from the keeper, on top of a fantastic overall performance.

I don't blame him for the first goal, killer first touch and a great shot from Rodrygo, you can't come out on top in every single duel but he did in pretty much every other one. Well deserved MOTM. Very level headed in the post match interview too.

Good moments today at my pub here in NoCal with a few City fans outnumbered by Real Madrid fans as well as a crew of Arsenal types watching on another telly and a small group of Toon supporters.

Got a good laugh when Haaland got whacked in the coconuts and I shouted “That’s the biggest target on the pitch!” Meantime in stoppage I am screaming at Savinho to take it to the corner and a Real Madrid fan shouts “He can’t — he’s Brazilian!”

Very convivial pre-holiday atmosphere and a lot of beer and pub grub consumed by all since its lunch time on the West Coast. For what it’s worth not a single RM fan wants Alonso sacked but they’re all resigned to the fact that he likely will be.

Aw, piss off
Yep. Comments like his are why we have an 'ignore' button. Some people have so much entitlement yet so little self-awareness. Many of us used to do it in a sort of self-deprecating/humorous sort of way - them days were good.

Stop getting giddy you lot.
Madrid were poor.
The manager has lost the dressing room.
City were lucky, a defensive mistake and a stupid challenge cost Madrid.

What ? I'm just joining in with the tnt (and the rest) wankers.

The truth, a statement win. If we want to be 'The Best in Europe' you have to beat the current best. We did.
End of.
Ahem. PSG are the current CL Champions.

Totally understand Pep and any of his players getting yellow cards tonight.
If i was anywhere near him I would of got arrested.
20 year old from Colyhurst most definitely one of our own.
He deserves a song that's unique to him.
At this rate with his progression he as the world at his feet.
Nunes was very good tonight to after he silly foul early on.
If Doku could find a team mate with his passing he would be a world beater.
Phil wasn't at his best tonight but that's allowed after his great recent form.
Plenty of positives even though Madrid are a shadow of there former selves. CTID

Important win.

With Rodri and Kovacic both being unavailable for most of the season, City are very light in midfield. Foden and Bernardo didn't have their best performances tonight. They rarely gave the ball away, but it's really Nico González who is carrying the midfield in recent weeks. Something that might need to be addressed in January.

He let their players influence him.

One of their lot waved an imaginary card after the Foden challenge and he duly obliged
Yeah, disappointed to see a ref of his stature so easily influenced.
Thought he read the game wrong, which I didn’t expect of him.
He reffed without nuance, only flashing his card in the final third. Continually ignoring the tactical fouls when we were in transition, especially on Doku, who they took turns on. He should have known better, however, the failure to sanction Rudiger late in the game, which should have resulted in a red, showed a lack of courage and was very very poor.

I fully accept that. No offence but you are missing my point.
The first name any 'tourist' fan says is real madrid. They have won so many Champs Leagues and they are supposedly the 'world's best'. All I've heard tonight from the media is how poor they were, how many injuries etc.
Well fuck them, we beat them at their ground and that is a statement.
If you swap City for the dippers the wankometer would have broken.

True, they’re always in crisis when we beat them. But when Dippers beat them at Anfield a few weeks back it was the second coming.
