33 | Nico O'Reilly - 2025/26

Good lad. Plays every game like he's on Hough End, fuck all fazes him.
Going to have an exceptional career. Probably under the radar because he doesn't court attention but can potentially retire with an impressive amount of honors.

Unreal. So composed and calm. The only thing I'd say is sometimes he's a bit narrow when there's a break on and gives himself too much work to do to get across to either stop the cross or block the shot. He's still learning though. We are lucky to have him.

Good lad. The composure was the most impressive thing about him tonight. Would forgive him for putting in a nervy performance but showed no signs of nerves at all. Great reactions for the goal. If we are being critical, he has got to learn how to deal with an overlap better, It's one of his more obvious weaknesses but it'll come.

Playing like that out of position away at the Bernabeu has to the biggest sign of quality of a player.

He's just so fantastically consistent. No mistakes seem to affect him and he's getting better and better in possession.

He's going to be an incredible player.
I don’t think we can really say he’s being played out of position now. He’s predominantly a LB now and doing a mega job of it.

Already a 100 mill player. Yeah he gets caught out now and again but that's absolutely to be expected for a 20 year old that is playing at left-back for the first time in his career.

It's not an issue now, and maybe it never will be, but I do wonder whether he wants to be a LB long-term and whether he'll ever get a chance in midfield and how that transition would go.

you do have to say that the 2 big madrid chances came through his side and it's probably because his winger wasn't there to help him.

Brilliant

Young lad going to Madrid, grabbing a goal and MOTM.

Big future ahead if he wants it. Seems level headed, so I think he's got the lot.

Hope he has signed or will be signing a new big fat long term contract. Also think he's hoping to end up being a top class no 8 unfortunately we just don't have that left back to let him play there now.

The narrow back four is by design, but it did get a little exposed by an opposing manager who had done his homework…and had the players to potentially exploit it.
