9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

I think there is a genuine possibility that Madrid tries to swap Vinicius with Haaland next summer, now that it has become pretty evident that the Mbappe-Vini experiment is a wash. Not direct trade ofc and obviously we would need to dig deep in our pockets to compensate for the difference in value, but I think the Haaland camp is sending signals.

You can have him in eight years on a free when his contract expires you set of cheapskate fuckers, and as for that disrespectful little **** Vinicius do you really seriously we would be interested in signing him?

You’ve obviously not taken the defeat very well.

He went on cbs after the game and when asked about breaking records, shearers especially, he said about being humble and not thinking about it but how well it’s gone so far and how long his contract is so read between the lines. He’s here to stay.

I enjoyed how they said Carragher couldn’t read after he said that and they all laughed.

From Madrid being spanked at home
Did Madrid make him say these things?

If you read more carefully, I specifically didnt say that you would be interested in signing Vinicius.

The game mattered to me only regarding Xabi Alonso's future. Otherwise its just the league stage of the Champions league. It wasnt about winning or losing but showing hes still in control and has the players on his side. We are a very structurally poorly constructed team and there is currently a power dynamic going on so I never expected us to win in the first place, but I hoped that we are competitive for Xabi to keep going and we managed that

This place has always been full of wum’s
I mean when everything winds you up, I guess everyone is a wum.

lol I should have known that people here will get riled up at any hint of such an event.

I honestly don't want Haaland in Madrid, so theres no reason to attack me, Im just a messenger. I agree with the poster who said that Mbappe would not take it well. But I know how Florentino operates. He doesnt care about that. And for him if one major star leaves, he will want an even bigger one as a replacement. I'd prefer a harder working striker who is great at heading, presses a lot to cover for Mbappe's poor work rate and doesn't have the same stature so there is clear hierarchy.

Again, don't kill the messenger, but I don't think the ten year contract means a lot if Haaland decides he wants something else in his career. Make no mistake, he has a lot of power. It would take a lot of money, but if he pushes for an exit, I don't think it will be 250 million pounds, it will probably be somewhere around the 150 million mark. And if we sell Vinicius to PSG or the Saudis for any sum around 100, and Rodrygo for 50-70 as is probably his value, we could probably go up to 200 for Haaland, especially if he communicates to City that he wants to leave.

But these are signals imo. It’s just how the whole game works. You dont say stuff like this randomly in this position.
Keep dreaming sunshine.
It’s real life not FIFA.

So your whole wet dream of a swap is just that, you know we wouldn’t entertain Vinicius.
I doubt the team you follow has got the cojones to stump up the €200 million plus to get Haaland out of City and on top of that you have Mbappe who won’t be playing second fiddle to anyone.

If you know Man City and how we respect teams how our players are respectful you would have understood the interview with Haaland and how he responded with full respect!

For the third time, neither do I want Haaland at Madrid, nor did I say a swap between the two clubs is on the cards. I said Florentino wants to swap Vinicius with Haaland at Madrid and Haaland is giving signals that he would like to play for Madrid.

Clearly nobody is capable of discussing this with a cold head, so might as well drop it and let you all enjoy posting stats about all the records Haaland has broken.

We are discussing it with a cold head, you can post whatever you want regarding a Perez wish list but you know we’re not going to entertain it as a club so what was your motivation apart from a bit of wumming?

Now as we like to say in these parts Jog on.

Wow, you really showed this outgroup member his place lol. I will know better in the future not to do "wumming" by posting quotes that disturb your peace.

So pleased to know you don’t. Fortunately, Haaland has signed a long contract with City. I’m not aware Haaland has said anything of late about wanting to play for RM, why would he, when he’s signed this contract?

How can you suggest a player who has scored 1 goal in 33 games is worth 70 million, yet the current best no.9 on the planet is worth less than PSG paid for Mbappe nearly a decade ago? Dream on you deluded freak

Im just saying that when a player is that big, he has a lot more power, so the length of the contract doesn't have the same weight as it would with other players.

Also, as I said, things have changed now at Madrid with Vinicius who was seen as untouchable and the second biggest star losing his shine and very likely not extending. I can easily see the Haaland camp taking note and factoring this in their career planning just like Mbappe was doing before. Of course he is not going to say explicitly he wants to play for Madrid in the middle of December. But these hints are not accidental imo.

Personally I would love it if Florentino resigns over the entire Xabi vs players fiasco and there is a clearout where we actually do some proper squad building based on the coach's vision instead of collecting random superstars. Which obviously means no thanks to Haaland. Him and Mbappe upfront seems nice on paper but I don't think it will work, Mbappe is just a very selfish player and Haaland needs someone with the mentality of being dedicated to setting him up, like Doku or Cherki.
