A billion in debt, still overspending on players and not once breached FFP… I see the PL once again doing a great job.
Rags have been fined 300,000 euros (£257,000) by Uefa for a "minor" breach of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

They were one of a number of clubs sanctioned by Uefa under FFP rules in place between 2019 and 2022.

United said they were "disappointed by the outcome".

However, they added the club accepted the fine "for what Uefa acknowledges to be a minor technical breach of its previous Financial Fair Play rules".

In explaining the reason for the punishment, United continued that "this reflected a change in the way that Uefa adjusted for Covid-19 losses during the 2022 reporting period, which allowed us to recognise only 15m euros of the 281m euros of revenues lost due to the pandemic within the FFP calculation".

Notice that it was only "minor technical breach"
They managed to pass PL FFP because they were given an couple of unprecedented allowances once for Covid and they other for their owners costs of selling to Scruffy Jim

You might ask how with the accounts showing losses for sometime that they pass FFP, well they have worked a fiddle that the first UK company in their ownership structure doesnt make the loss his of course doesnt attract the attention of the media

I think its been said on here that rags use the Red Football Ltd for their books to the pl not mufc ltd books.

Yep, his exact words were “Everyone knows they’re guilty.” The little know nowt prick was absolutely gutted, he was on the verge of scriking his eyes out. I was lucky enough to be off work that day just sitting on the settee all day laughing at all the meltdowns and mental gymnastics trying to make out we were guilty, hopefully I’ll be doing it again soon, top day that was.
Exactly as I remember it, and did near enough the same. Really weird, I’d not watched Sky Sports News for years but that day, had it on in the background. Then it dropped, had a few glorious hours rejoicing at their pain, and not watched it since.

The headline says “following” the Synagogue attack.

Not doubting you, but I’d be interested to see confirmation of Pep making his comments some months before.

Video was posted on October 3rd, the day after the Heaton Park attack. His comments were reported across the media. Here's one report. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6688809/2025/10/04/guardiola-gaza-israel-palestine-news/

Even if he'd recorded that before the attack, a true mensch would have made it clear that he'd recorded it before the attack and apologised for the offence caused to the Jewish community by the timing of its release.

Yet not only did he not do that but I don't recall one word from him in sympathy with my community over that attack, which is particularly annoying when the club regularly tells us it's against all forms of racism, including antisemitism.

what a cower of shunts
Now, in a letter to City’s chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the Jewish Representative Council argues that ‘at a time when our community is grieving and we have received solidarity from many of Manchester’s prominent institutions, you have offered absolutely no support’, which ‘is in complete contrast to Manchester United Football Club who pushed for a minute’s silence, something your club would not have done had Brentford not already had one planned as a mark of respect for someone connected with their football club’.
This is despicable not least because Pep’s daughters narrowly escaped death (they were very close to the concourse at the Arena when the bomb went off) in an Islamist terrorist attack. Pep has always added caveats to his personal views on Gaza. He has stressed that he hates all violence from whatever source. He should sue the Mail and so should Khaldoon.

The shameful thing is that Pep completely disrespected the victims of the synagogue stabbing and the whole Jewish community by making those remarks hours after that cowardly attack. It was crass and grossly insensitive. He also probably breached the club's social media policy as well. He deserves all the shit he gets for that.
I don’t know anything about the timing. But surely the idea that Pep and Khaldoon are in any way anti semitic is absurd.

The attacks on Gaza go on every fucking day Colin you myopic twunt and with far greater loss of life.

He has every right to point out the Israeli government’s shameful actions.
I think all football managers should stay out of politics to be honest. The problem is where do you draw the line. Once you start you are on the podium. Having personal views is fine but Pep is a public figure. The Middle East conflict has been toxic for centuries. I can understand better his views on Catalonia because his personal friends were jailed.

I think people who have a soapbox due to their fame should say and act as per their conscience and morals as what they decide to comment on.

What a stupid comment. What does that even mean? No one's asking for the world to stop, just for our manager to think before he speaks.
Life goes on. Why should he be denied the opportunity to voice his opinions. The only people who seem to be aware of his supposed comments post post Oct 2nd are you and a few others. It's already been shown that his comments which got the publicity were the ones at the Degree Ceremony.
Perhaps some of you community should be as vocal in the slaughter of innocent woman and children by the IDF. You might want to reflect on the fact that the day after the Synagogue attack 63 Gaza residents including woman and children were killed

I agree with that. I am certain that Pep is not anti-semitic. I don’t know the full context of Pep’s Barcelona protest comments or when he said them and I don’t trust selective comments on social media. But I agree that our club has a very poor record in terms of comms bungles going back years. Pep represents the club and should not allow himself to become a political figure.

Are they above reproach though mate? Nobody should be above reproach. This isn't a right or wrong scenario but one of asking a question.
City have a track record of mishandling media communications going back years. I can’t imagine Khaldoon will be happy with these headlines not least because ( wearing his other hat) the UAE has become a trading partner with Israel and is trying to improve relations. Pep should stay out of politics while he represents City. The same rule applies to people who are Headteachers, Doctors etc.

I think people who have a soapbox due to their fame should say and act as per their conscience and morals as what they decide to comment on.
I disagree. I hate mixing football and politics. I hate the fascist fan groups in Eastern Europe as much as I hate the Green Brigade. For me football is an escape from all the sectarian hatred which is destroying our world. When Pep retires he can speak out publically
