Don’t know that any of us saw him becoming this important a player for us. Credit to him for the work and the toughness to battle through a pretty low place.

resilient performance that was about nullifying thier attacks and taking chances. felt it had to be a defender - although was tempted to agree with Glen Murray and pick Foden for a good disciplined performance plus goal - but Gvardiol seemed to be the man most getting in the way of their lumps into the box - so went with him.
