Three more wins will almost do for them (four certainly will); maybe with a couple of draws chucked in as well. Out of their remaining 22 games. Very seldom is the mythical 40 pts needed to stay up; mid - high 30s is usually enough.
 
Yep... even today, while we playing the scum, I had half an eye on the Hammers and Forest scores...

A habit I have had for nearly 50 years...unlikely to ever lose it sadly....

But today...and actually this season so far, has been more than I could have imagined....if you'd have said to me in April....
...You'll win the playoffs, be 7th in the Premier league having beaten the scum... have Xhaka as your captain pulling the strings, and your potential European chances ( i.know I know) will be hampered by Afcon.... I'd have wondered what meds you were on

You never know. Look what happened to us. Love to see you in Europe. Sunderland are a great English club. Always will be, wherever you are.

Only one relegation place to worry about because Wolves and Burnley are gone and going on today Sunderland will have more than enough to break the 40 point mark ...............first time ive seen them and they look a good solid outfit ...........Newcastle on the other hand just looked average ............amazing the odds the bookies give out on teams that are up against teams coming off the back of a tough euro game ..........Sunderland 2/1 today stealing money
