President Trump

BBC should follow Pulitzers lead by asking for his full medical records as part of their case against being sued.

Nah when 40% of people keep electing this **** I simply can’t agree.

And that's after seeing what he was like in his previous term, and trying to carryout an insurrection. Mrs keeps talking about going to Orlando for the kids, said I would rather fly to Disneyland in Japan than ever visit that place.

They’re cowards, as are those who told us Trump was just a “normal GOP politician” and we were all making a mountain out of a molehill, as are those who told us they didn’t like Trump but Biden or whatever “Dem” was just as bad.

TBF there were a few who stood up and said “I was wrong” some time ago — good on them.
Isn't Trump a Democrat? I thought he had just piggy backed the Republicans as a ride into power.

But the point is he doesn't have to win. He launches dozens of these spurious lawsuits every year. He just has to have them sitting there whilst his lawyers wrap everything up in red tape knowing that eventually his opponents will run out of money and have to make a settlement offer. He then gets loads of money and can turn it into a win to prove he was right all along or the other party wouldn't have settled. The BBC are screwed.
The BBC aren’t screwed at all. It’s a completely fucking meritless claim.

The BBC aren’t screwed at all. It’s a completely fucking meritless claim.

There are, unfortunately, several reasons this is damaging for the BBC

(1) I understand the BBC commercial arm has ambitions to expand in the US. Trump controls US regulators

(2) Every time the legal case is raised, it damages the BBCs reputation, which is the single thing of greatest value to the BBC.

(3) Every time the case is raised it helps Trump, because the single most important thing to him is to devalue truth (hence "truth social"). If facts ever become important again, Trump really is screwed. So it's worthwhile for Trump to spend $millions on this because...

(4) Regardless of merit, it will cost $millions to the BBC to defend (I heard a $50-100M estimate). So BBC lawyers will likely recommend settling at a fraction of that.

This is how the law works, on this case and everywhere else. If you're rich enough, the process itself can be used to force the other side into submission. Regardless as to the rights and wrongs.

100%. Trump won't pay the lawyers to do anything more. He's made his point.
I’d guess they are only getting paid if they get something out of the BBC. Which they possibly will regardless of the merits. This has been Trump’s modus operandi for, oh, about 40 years. But even if not, you are right, he has made his point.
