Watched the game on tele last night and sadly had the commentary on. Listening to Andy Hinchcliffe (a big error I know) apart from losing the will to live, I realise now that we shouldn’t be in the semi-final v Newcastle. This thread is therefore a fraud and should be taken down immediately. A letter must be written demanding Brentford be playing instead and that Hinchcliffe is given the VAR gig for our next 10 games as compensation. He apparently noticed that there might have been a red card given against us but I barely heard him mention it.

Anyway here’s a picture to make us all hang our heads in shame. Admit it - how many of yus were guilty of cheering this man - we’re not cheering now ….

Think I might boycott the semi after that disgraceful decision last night. It was a red card for Kush and entirely City's fault the ref didn't see it. And the torrential rain was City's fault. And having a match on the same night as an event at Co-op Live is also City's fault. And making Andy Hinchcliffe cry. And lo and fuckin behold the BBC are asking about the bloody red card this morning.
How can we go to the semi-final after such a travesty of justice?
A brilliant post.

I think City need to appeal and request the yellow is overturned for a red instead. Don’t want to find in 5 years time we are found guilty of cheating and get a worse punishment and the inevitable meltdown the country will suffer from City’s cheating.

We would have beaten brentford with 9 men last night they were that poor.

I couldn't even work out whether they had changed their team. The only weapon they had was the long throw-in and some pretty inaccurate long balls that were meat and drink to Khusanov.

A good effort by Ake and Khusanov last night. That was a good combination.

Well, with Newcastles historical trophy record, it ISN'T likely that they are suddenly gonna win two Carabou Cups in successive seasons, so this is probably a good draw for City, and especially as the 2nd leg is at the Etihad ..... it will be difficult though in the first leg at their place, when the crowd is right behind them as the team swarm forward on the pitch, but we know the score, we know what we have to do, and we should be capable of doing it.

Should get a decent allocation for this, I remember going to st James park about 18 years ago Sunday night FA cup match we lost 1 nil Nobby solano goal and we took about 7000.

Edit : 2002 wow time flies!

Im old enough to remember the time - in an FA Cup Final - when the Palace keeper clearly and deliberately handled the ball outside the box to deny a goalscoring opportunity; VAR saw it, looked at the clear rules breach but instead just didnt apply the rules and brushed it under the carpet - indeed it was laughed off and hardly anybody batted an eyelid afterwards.

Yet a marginal - and it was genuine 50-50 - decision in a Carabao QF seems to have inspired the usual shitstorm of retrospective comment and outcry, the likes of which way exceeds the frankly scandalous Cup Final non-decision by a set of officials in the countrys supposed showpiece game. Remarkable stuff.

A first for the impartial BBC this morning as they're asking fans to vote about the incident.
Red card or not?
Wow the cash must be flowing in for their Xmas bash.
Funnily we didn't have the option to vote on the 'shoulder ball' that gave the rags a free kick from which they scored from on Monday.
They could of really boosted their coffers
