Seat Counters 25/26

An interesting little snap shot. Certainly not scientific. But where are support is now in general in Gtr Manchester.

Where I work in Trafford Park I put out the same amount of 2026 City and United Calenders side by side for Christmas. I’ve watched their sales out of interest week by week leading up to Christamas. I fully expected the United Calenders to sell much faster, as they had done previously over the years. How wrong I was.

The City Calenders have nearly sold out. There are plenty of United Calenders left.

Remember, this is in Trafford Park, not far from Old Toilet, and the surrounding areas are definitely United areas.

Any way, back to moaning. ;-)

If you don't want to go, dont go.
It's your choice.
But keep it to yourself, because lots of us are bored with your negativity.

It’s a forum.

I can discuss and post what I want.

Only Ric and the Mods can delete or edit my posts if they think what I’ve posted warrants that action.

If you don’t like seeing and reading what I post, that goes for Superbia and anyone else, use the ignore function. That is what it is there for.

We have a lot more match going fans in Stretford than the rags. Most of Trafford is a hotbed of City support. These are Blues who still love going to the game because they had to live through decades of gloating rags, when Utd were a successful football team.

No offence Tim, but it’s impossible to say we have a lot more match going fans in Stretford than United do. I doubt that very much, but like you I can prove what I think.

Where I work our shoppers travel from all over Gtr Manchester to shop there. I won’t name the company. So, it’s a good general snap shot of our and United’s support around the local area and across Gtr Manchester. I appreciate it’s a very vague way off measuring both clubs support.

On the plus side, it’s a great way to wind the Rags up at work. I often find the United Calenders put on top of the City Calenders on purpose by the Rags at work. It’s just good natured banter, and makes this miserable **** smile and laugh.

I’ll do a calendar count on my last day at work before Christmas. :-)

Growing up there were plenty of match going rags on our street alone. Now they are harder to spot than a scouser without a criminal record.

Loads will say they are reds but they never go. I think they have kept more fans in Sale but that’s just anecdotal.

There will be more reds in your part of Stockport!

Why not have option of cup season tickets to take up the slack of those not on the cup scheme. Obviously pay for option when renewing Cityzen membership. Incentive of Virtually guaranteeing a cup semi/final ticket. May result in those who have dropped of cup scheme opting back in as not guaranteed final ticket (bigger points people may not be happy mind). Just a thought.
I’m SC and on all CS

I've never seen so many City shirts being worn in Manchester. They're everywhere
I have family members who teach in different primary schools in Manchester. They say the vast majority of their kids male and female are City fans. You rarely see United shirts these days. We have hoovered up all the local fans.

Just proving once again the only doom and gloom around City is from the FOC's on Bluemoon

I can remember our 2 young sons were outnumbered at least 5 to 1 in the mid-90's, attending a Burnage primary school.
But, the parents of the young City fans would have no problem in taking them to Maine Road, cutting through Platt Fields.
We easily obtained 1 adult and 2 junior season tickets, in the Platt Lane Stand family area.
But, as Manchester is now very cosmopolitan, growing city, will the current young City fans have the opportunity to get to the Etihad ?
Who is the MCFC employee(s) responsible for getting the next generation to attend games ?
City have the young fans out there, but logistically, what is the best way to get them in the ground ?

What are you trying to make more efficient? The cost getting there or time? Cost wise walking, but not time wise, so there is not best way as in logistics there are trade-offs, but it is generally about cutting out waste.

For a start Brentford, and Exeter in the cup, also more season tickets available for next season.
