West Ham United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Worry doesn’t come into it. The only time we actually need to be top is after the last game of the season. Would have been nice though if Arse had not got another spawny winning goal.
No issues at all at not being top at Christmas. I bet there will be a bucket load of stats coming out now about how many teams have been top at Christmas and how many of them win the league. Probably been posted on here and I've not seen it.

Lots of fixtures to go. We'll see how we're getting on soon as I believe we've got some tough games coming up - I believe our next 4 away games are Forest, Sunderland, Rags and Spuds.

The Don was superb yesterday when called upon, and as easy as that game was, it could have been another 'Leeds' but for his brilliance. One of many positives from our recent games - it's great to have him.

Bowen's always been a good player with a great work ethic. As for Paqueta - who would you rather see, him or Cherki? Paqueta couldn't take the place of any of our starters today. I'd take only Bowen.

Another good day at the office and a happy blue Christmas for us all. Happy days!

Complete mismatch in reality but we still tried our best to self destruct at times , still miles away from the standard needed to win the league.
True - but so are Arsenal and Villa. Like us at times, they’re getting results but not always convincingly. Someone’s gonna win it !

There are a lot of poor sides visiting the Etihad this season and West Ham were one of the worst. They look like they are going down.

Haaland should have had 4 goals. Cherki good on the ball but his defensive work leaves a lot to be desired. He needs to start doing this or he won't play in the big matches.
keep saying the exact same thing anout Cherki....Pep is saying it as well (indirectly)....in his post match press conference...players not being in the right positions when we are attacking....you can bet one of those he is aiming that at is cherki...
If/when Rodri is back Pep has some huge decisions to make.....Nico G doesnt deserve to get dropped....but he cant play the two tens central......Cherki or Foden are getting moved outside/wide or on the bench in the big games as if rodri gets back to his level he starts so there is one less place for them

Only 13 pages and I've just read the last one and not seen a single whinge. Could it be you are actually starting to believe?

Don't worry, no team ever successfully shuts out every attack so you'll still get plenty of chances, especially with a tough spell coming up. But we're where we are on merit, don't forget that.

If each of them is good enough there's no reason why we can't rotate more often and keep them all fit and fresh. If not, the better player gets the job.

Could have had 6 or 7. And WH could have had a few themselves, two big saves by Donnarumma early in the second half kept a comeback at bay, then another off the side of his head that he didn't know much about.

Oh for someone to thread a pass through to Haaland like De Bruyne used to do.
Cherki has only been here for 5 minutes. Give it time. He looked completely lost in his second match.

Remember, KDB couldn't even get in the team at Chelsea.

Praise from coms but with a weird denial thing.

Good team, score lots of goals but I wouldn’t pay to watch. Arsenal however, brilliant at everything.

Once you move past the emotions those comments try to ignite and see it all about creating narratives which caused engagement for certain purpose you see through it.

Used to wind me right up until I took a step back to try and find a reason for the negativity that surrounds city in the media.

Once you see it, their views become redundant.
When I hear all this I'm just thinking "what did you ever win"? None of them can hold a candle to what we've achieved.

Bernardo, not Cherki or Foden (unless Cherki doesn't help enough off the ball).

Some/most players are a bit tired after having played every 3-4 days recently. Drawing conclusions from W Ham is a bit pointless given the schedule we had.

Good result, but sad I couldn’t watch it. Seems like we deserved to win but West Ham troubled us in the second half until a slightly fortunate third goal. Bring back Rodri.
West Ham huffed and puffed a bit but were never going to stage a comeback. It's the usual lot who think no other team ever should be able to actually attack us.

Easiest game of the season so far cruised threw the game gets boring when we just see out games with 20 mins left I get it game management and all
Not just about that but they can play upwards of 60 matches a season. Run around like men possessed for 90 minutes in every match and when it comes to the run in they're knackered. Ask Arsenal.
