Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Yes he's 1 of the best players in the world BUT will he get back to that level he was at 18 months ago in the next 4 months? He wasn't performing aswell earlier in the season and after so long out that's understandable. Getting the riquired peak fitness level takes a good period of time back IMO And it might happen this season and if he gets to that level the league is likely yours.

Regarding Havertz, it's the things you don't necessarily see on TV. He's an off the ball monster the way he gets box to box, he can be in midfield 1 moment then pop up in the 6 yard box the next. He tends to always pop up in space in the box. You can knock it long for him to win the ball in the air and/or hold it up to get other players into play. That doesn't sound like much, but when a team are trying to equalise it relieves the pressure. He's great in duels too. And his G/A rate has been 1 of our highest. Again it could take time for him to regain his peak form.

The other question is if City are back to the level they were 2-3 years ago when I believe you had better players that have now left. In the last 4 league games you've scored 10 and conceeded 0 and that looks fantastic. Although I did think you looked shaky in the early going against Palace, they could of scored a goal or 2 and took the lead on another day. The 2 games before that you conceeded 6 in 2 games against Leeds and Fulham, which could of been dropped points on another day. Obviously the games we won by 1 goal, it's the same thing, a dodgy deflection in the box are a set piece and points are dropped.
Nobody will ever reach the level we were two to three years ago. We were THAT GOOD!

IMHO with Dippers off the boil and City losing the best creative midfielder in PL history I think it would be time for a new coach. We literally aren't going to get a better opportunity than this season.

maybe you could write to him on some headed note paper sacking him and get your cartel mates to sign it

Never forget , fuck arsenal.and all they stand for , trust fund entitled wankers the lot of them

Adebayor says hi

Probably not due to system but if you used City's system and replaced Doku with Trossard, Silva with Saka and Gonzalez with Rice then Haaland would score more goals just based on quality of delivery.

You could argue also that sticking Odegaard in there would lead to a lot more goals given they play for Norway together but I wouldn't replace Foden with Odegaard so it might not be a good fit.
If my auntie had balls shed be my uncle. Foolish analogy but keep posting, I enjoy your views.

He literally does every game. Just faster and more effectively. Come on man, you seriously can't be comparing Bernardo Silva with Saka! Today's Silva wouldn't get into our Carabao cup side!
Greatest manager of all time has made him captain and picks him in all the big games. Granted, carrying around all those medals he's won has slowed him down a bit.

Gabriel coming back will make us better. We were very shaky with Saliba and Gabriel out. Jesus is adding allot of rolls royce quality when he comes off the bench. How long that can last with his knee problems is anyones guess. Havertz is set to come back and has been an important player tactically. Gyokeres has been out and should be getting fitter game by game. Odegaard was out for a good while and isn't really back up to speed yet.

The other issues are, remaining fixture. You haven't played Chelsea yet, we haven't played Bournemouth yet

Your Away Games are (10): Forrest, Sunderland, Spurs, Liverpool, Leeds, West Ham, Chelsea, Burnley, Everton, Bournemouth

Our Away games are (10): Bournemouth, Forrest, Leeds, Brentford, Spurs, Brighton, Wolves, City, Wet Spam, Palace

I think yours look a tad tougher overall.
Jesus is a rolls royce

Hahahahaha

Interesting video by Robbie from AFTV regarding Everton fans being upset about the chants from the Everton fans. OK, get this but Scousers boo the national anthem which pisses off most other fans so if you dish it out you need to be able to take it when it comes back.

We were literally 1 point off you in one season and 4 in your treble season. If this had been given as a penalty we'd have won the league (just in case the usual diatribe that refs are against City comes out which it frequently seems to from the short of memory on here).

Since then our squad has improved drastically. So in theory we would have been better equipped in those 2 seasons and therefore if Arteta can't win it vs a City side that's not at the level of the one that just pipped us to the title, despite us spending a fortune on the squad since then, then he has to go.

You think you’ve only struggled to score in 1 game ? All season, scoring from open play has been a problem for you? I thought we were talking about why you have the best squad & what evidence there is for that? I personally don’t see evidence of it.
Arsenal fans simultaneously claiming that they have the best squad, and yet constantly whining about injuries. Make it make sense.

This is a fallacy though. Why would Arsenal not get better? They have Gabriel to come back in and Havertz also. Plus players recently back from injury getting back up to speed (eg Odegaard, Gyokeres etc). And we have played far better already this season including giving Bayern and Atletico a bumming. We aren't playing great currently but that will pick up. Form ebbs and flows. That being said I am still 'worried' but I was also worried when we were 7 clear as I didn't think we looked unbeatable.
Stopped reading at Havertz. He’s bobbins

They're very strong at CB. Rice and Saka are both quality. They then have a lot of very good players. They don't have any elite players though and their manager is not good enough. Added to the over emotional state of the management, players and fam base, they imo do not have enough to win the major trophies.
When you look at our teams who have won titles, they all had world class players through the spine of the squad. Arsenal just don't have that. They have very solid defence and that's not enough.
I so hope you meant “fam base” - absolute genius!!!

You show yourself up as a bigger gobshite than any other Arsenal fan we've ever had on here with each and every post.
Gobshite.

Our teams compete on every front, those seasons you speak of you threw everything at the league alone.

Let's see how this season plays out on all fronts

You used to be a sensible poster and careful not to antagonise as you are on a City forum. Now you regularly post one-eyed shite and seem to be trying very hard to annoy. Title pressure getting to you already?

Lol. Cherry picking one incident from one game and stating it changes the whole league is the way to go.

No but come on this post was in response to someone who asserted that Saka couldn't manage the workload of someone who used to be an incredible player for City but now looks like he's running through treacle. It's disrespectful to Saka.

That said, I've now teed up the inevitable 90th minute Bernardo winner against Arsenal at the Etihad.

And claiming he wouldn’t get in your Carabao Cup side. Which is either WUMming (pretty sad), or marks you out as a no nowt moron (possibly based on your recent post history).

Bernardo is a go-to (and captain) for the greatest manager in the history of the game. He has lost some pace and some creativity but still covers an incredible amount of ground and is a vital cog in the system. But yeah, not good enough to play for your B team.

OK so Arsenal's options are Saka, Madueke, Nwaneri on the right. Are you saying he gets in ahead of both Saka and Madueke?

I'm not WUMming as I've been clear City have some world class players but even your own fans have berated Silva at times.

Silva’s best position is not on the right. As you’d know if you took off your blinkers.

So if you play him centrally he needs to get in ahead of either Odegaard or Eze if in an attacking role, or Rice, Zubimendi, Merino if in a less advanced position. Not going to happen just like Gyokeres/Havertz are never getting in ahead of Haaland.
