We're not getting this player imo. Liverpool and utd headlines all over it. We won't bid against them, unless it is to force them to pay whatever stupid fee his agent demands. Shame, decent player.

Why do people keep saying sell Semenyo for Bobb and Savinho, 2 bench players?

Semenyo isnt replacing Savinho/Bobb hell be replacing Doku at least in terms of the first XI

He wont be happy on the bench for 90% of games

Think you've just answered your question why he'd join Dippers/Rags over us, guaranteed first team football

No such thing as ‘guaranteed first team football’ unless you’re an absolutely elite player, and Semenyo certainly isn’t one of those.
 
Sky Bet go 6/4 Liverpool, 9/4 City, 7/2 United. I thought people were saying yesterday that he'd already chosen United? If that was indeed the case, he would've been backed in to huge odds on and the market might even have been pulled as a result. I think Liverpool being favourites makes sense with Isak being injured and I get the impression that they've held an interest in him for longer than we have so they may have already done some leg work tapping up on that score.

No there isnt but there circumstances dictate that

If he joins Liverpool on the 1st his direct completion for the wing position is Gakpo, Chiesa and Ngumoha, and hed also be first deputy to Ekitike now Isak is crooked

Semenyo is "guaranteed starter" under those circumstances

Whereas here hes up against Cherki, Doku, Savinho, Bobb and technically Foden

I know where hes likely to get more minutes

Nothing like a natural defender. He was exposed in CWC and continues to be every time he plays.

His appearance record perhaps suggests that he isn't considered good enough by those that matter.

I thought that he looked really exciting going forward when he first arrived, but that's not a priority - for me - when looking at a fullback.

see all that do we want a squad like arsenal Liverpool have or do want a bench like Saturday? Semenyo can play anywhere in the front three! It’s about options and like managers do the lie to a player to get them signed Slott told Wirts we build a team around you in your preferred position!

I mean Liverpool bench at the weekend was the below, and now they've lost Isak... not exactly that strong

Marmadashville, Lucky, Robertson, Frimpong, Ramsey, Nyoni, Chiesa, Isak

Arsenal yea but they've jsut got 3 players back from injury whereas we've lost a few ths last couple weeks
 
Look at our summer and how quick transfers were done. Trust Viana he’s one of the most ruthless negotiators in football it’s why we wanted him from Sporting.

What a Sporting journalist said in an article was that when the media get info about Sporting going for a player , it’s already done behind the scenes as Viana is quick to get it done.

The Dippers is different, hes an upgrade over Gakpo and replacing a lot of what they lost with Diaz (who's a HUGE miss), as Diaz had that dribbling ability and also worked like a dog defensively, still shocked they sold him

Agreed, think Semenyo is a good player. Not a great one. He's better than Bobb and Savinho, but i dont think he's in that elite bracket. I'd be more concerned if United pipped us to Wharton, Anderson etc.
Media are gonna wank themselves silly if he goes the rags, but it is what it is.
