Most treasured bits of City memorabilia

I own the official match ball used in the inaugural Full Members Cup final on March 23rd 1986 which was played 24 hours after both teams had already appeared in First Division fixtures on the Saturday.

David Speedie became the first ever player to score a Wembley hat-trick following Sir Geoff Hurst when his treble helped Chelsea to a 5-4 victory over City. Speedie gave former Barnsley team-mate Mick McCarthy a tough afternoon in front of a 67,236 crowd which will be 40 years ago next March.

My United supporting father just gave me his scrap book he received from his auntie at Christmas 1967 when he was 9. In it the entire team that would go on to win the league that season. Its over 3 pages , but for some reason i could not upload that other page with the signatures of the rest of the squad including Colin Bell. My grandparents lived next door to Colin Bell when he was at Bury and obviously knew him fairly well. My late Grandmas claim to fame was buying Bell Pyjamas for his Birthday.

I've got the first day cover too with stamp and score..also the programme from the game..
Mind you it's in son's attic now lol..no room for all my old programmes etc where I live

My gran who passed away a couple of months ago several years ago painted a portrait of Kinkladze for my 18th birthday.

I've also got my ticket stub, shirt and match programme from the 99 play off final framed and up on the wall in my sports lounge.

The days when you could read an autograph!

Got to be my Reading programme from 1968,I was at Elm Park that night for the cup replay we won 7-0 and it's our biggest ever AWAY win.
My first home game was watching City play Reading in that FA Cup match at Maine Road. It wasn't my first time watching City, that was against Sheffield United at Bramhall Lane the year before in 1967, but what confused the hell out of me was City coming onto the pitch wearing an all purple kit.

I have the programme and it says cIty will be playing in purple shirts and shorts, Reading will be in an all white strip, and to this day I have no understanding of why we wouldn't be playing in the sky blue shirts I was expecting.
