As seems to be the norm this season, Coventry are ahead. Just checked last season's final table. L***s and Burnley both amassed exactly 100 points from their 46 games. It was fairly obvious from a fair way out that those two were likely to be the ones claiming the top two spots (Sheffield utd, in 3rd totalled 90 pts and Sunderland, in 4th earned 76 pts). Come the final whistle, Coventry will have played 23 games, halfway through the season. And if they hold on to the lead, they'll be on 51 pts. So they're on course to possibly beat those two clubs' totals. Just 2 defeats (and 6 draws) in the 22 completed games. Hard to argue with a record like that.
