Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

A lot of Arsenal fans will be hoping we slip up in our upcoming tough run of away games. The players and Arteta, without saying it, will be hoping they're a few points ahead after those games.

Going to be an interesting couple of months.

State of these bottlejobs losing the plot over Semenyo. It really emphasizes just how fragile their fanbase truly are and I believe its reflected throughout the whole club.

We are back to buying the league apparently despite fractional net spent compared to Arsenal under Arteta. This js coming from fans of a side that spent £50m on Jesus, replaced him with Havertz for £80m and then replaced him with Gyokeres for £70m and end up playing a £50m midfielder upfront and still arent happy with their striking options. A side that signed Trossard to replace Martinelli and then signed Eze to replace him and also want their club to go after Semenyo. And then I saw one comment suggesting we immediately replaced £30m trafford with £26m Donnarumma because he had 2-3 dodgy games, and not because a £26m deal to sign the official best keeper in the world isn't something no club should turn down. Again, from a fanbase whose side spent £40m on Ramsdale only to replace him with £40m Raya inside a year.

They're like knock off dippers but without the pedigree.

Re Semenyo. He's a superb player but we have so many recent attacking signings plus the youngsters that I don't think it makes any sense to try and sign him.

Semenyo is an Arsenal fan btw so the chances that he'd ever have joined Spurs (more likely to be a starter there than at City) were zero. And you'd be off your tits to sign for the Rags ahead of City. Chelsea supposedly interested but they seem to view their players as commodities so unless he is hell bent on moving to London he simply has to join City for the sake of his career.

Also Merry Xmas! Hope everyone has a great one.

Martin Keown on Final Score

City won the other day and today, celebrating and obviously full of themselves, yet Arsenal keep on doing what they have to do and win the game and are top of the table…..
He obviously doesn’t do irony.

So it will come down to which teams ‘weakness’ steps up. Arsenals attack or our defence.

The only problem for Arsenal is that despite our defence being a bit suspect it still contains proven premier league winning centre halves like Dias & Gvardiol & a world class goal keeper who has also won major trophies.

Meanwhile Arsenals attack is relying on a Swedish oaf who genuinely looks like he would struggle in the championship.

And scored a hat-trick against a City side, with Jamal Simpson-Pusey at centre-back.
