Sometimes you can watch a player and suddenly realise that they've got 'it'... that little bit extra that lifts them above the rest.

I've not seen any indication of that in Savinho. He's had plenty of opportunities but consistently fails to show anything 'special' about his game. He's very average imo.

I thought he was good again. He would be one of the best wingers in the world if he manages to tidy up his shooting. Leaves full backs for dead most of the time. Zero expectation he’s going to score when he’s through. I think he’ll end up becoming a top player in a few years time.

Someone pointed out on Twitter, that the funny thing about Savinho is, on the right he’s very good at dribbling and carrying the ball, but he can’t shoot, which he can do, but on the left instead.

I'm old enough to remember what many people said about Rodri, Doku and, more recently, Matheus Nunes. Some people will never understand that certain players need time. Savinho has enormous potential. His problem is mental because he went from being a star and the number one offensive weapon for one team (Girona) to being virtually unknown here. He is slowly gaining momentum and I have no concerns whatsoever about his future with us.

I'm not his biggest fan but I can see a work in progress. Savinho is a useful substitute in tight games at the moment. Did well yesterday as the outlet we needed to push Forest back when they were chasing an equaliser. Semenyo will give him even more competition for a place but that's what happens when you play for a club like City.
