Antoine Semenyo | Prefers to join City - Ornstein (p73)

Our recruitment since the treble has been bizarre. We have the best striker around so let's pair him with Doku who provides him 3 assists in 3 seasons, and with his hideous delivery into the box it's not likely to improve much. 8 assists in a hundred games for Bournemouth is almost Doku level bad, Semenyo is another who plays in his own little world and wants to score himself. So it'll be Foden who rarely links up with/assists Haarland, Doku who never does and Semenyo as an average striker standing on the wing, I'm not seeing what the plan is here.

For me Pep should be made to get some use out of the wide players we've already paid a fortune for before spunking more money away. Or if we do spend make it help for Gonzalez who finds himself in the Rodri position of a one man army holding the midfield together. He goes down injured we're back to last season's clownshow.

I have to disagree with your take here. Doku has actually been very productive, and he’s created the most chances from a wide position of any player in the world, so to say he “never assists” just isn’t true. Semenyo has also chipped in with 9 goals for Bournemouth, which shows he’s capable of contributing when given the right service. On top of that, Cherki and Reijnders both bring goals and assists to the table, giving us more options in attack than you’re crediting.
Our recruitment has clearly shifted to target players who can actually deliver goals, and it’s showing hence why we’re the top scorers in the league.

Regarding the midfield, the Rodri situation leaves the club in a tricky spot. With him not fully fit, the team must weigh whether to wait for his return or move in the market to secure another midfield player. City are also keen on Elliot Anderson, though that deal may have to wait until the summer. He would give us box-to-box energy, interceptions, and overall dynamism helping balance the side and take some of the burden off players like Nico G.

Doku and Cherki have created 9 & 11 big chances respectively. We’ve also got the most big chances missed in the league so clearly we are creating enough.

We’ve seen this before, the press announce City are on the cusp of a significant signing, then one of Man U or Liverpool gazump us. In any case I’m not that bothered, if we get Semeyo for £65k and let others go, fair enough. If not, stick and play on.
If we manage to get Semenyo for £65k then give Viana his statue now and I'll be just fine if we don't sell anyone to cover the Semenyo fee.

What it showed me was, posters was waiting for 4 years for that moment.

Even names I have never interacted with or seen interact in the transfer forum.

This isn’t football manager. Transfers are complex, games are even played at times.

The joy it brings a lot of you when something might not come to fruit. It’s odd.

How many times has Fabrizio called something and it hasn’t come to fruit?

And no I am not backing down, my source told me interest from elsewhere was stronger and I believe him as always.

Oh and I have since had an update from him that I will hold to myself.

Goodnight.
So he's off to the Rags then?
