Where the fuck is that
One of the Emirates concourses.Where the fuck is that
Arsenal don’t get many cards. Before this round of matches they had had 72 fouls awarded against them and accumulated a staggering THREE yellow cards at home. Mmmm, smells a tad fishy. With the squad they have, and a manager who takes the players off the leash now and again, Arsenal would be a formidable team, a team nobody would want to go up against too often. But Arteta's overly-negative approach means he has stifled so many of his flair players that there seems to be a lot of pent-up frustration within some of them, and their only outlet is committing silly fouls where they either get a card or cause themselves an injury they could well do without.
Personally I don't like Arteta, and I don't like the way his players find it necessary to feign injury so many times throughout a game. He has given the club an awful reputation with his 'win-at-any-cost' attitude, and I think for many footballing fans who follow the gooners them winning the Prem would be a pyrrhic victory.
Saka seems to be very poor at present. I have watched a couple of recent Arsenal games on TV and was surprised how poor he was…especially with the final pass.TBF he was out injured for 4 months of last season and has missed a month of this season.
Arsenal seem to have limited creativity to almost zero in order to be in the correct positions to press should they lose the ball.He seems to be very poor at present. I have watched a couple of recent Arsenal games on TV and was surprised Howe poor he was…especially with the final pass.
Narrowly behind manhandling cornersIs o/g their top scorer now ?
Don’t you mean Tony Simeone?Arsenal seem to have limited creativity to almost zero in order to be in the correct positions to press should they lose the ball.
Then all their energy is used in regaining the ball asap or making it impossible for teams to break their lines.
It’s been extremely effective in the main, but as teams learn how to bypass that better, no amount of increase in intensity will be able to stop some teams scoring.
Then it’s a case of whether Arsenal can remember how to create again.
Pep was like this to a degree, but Arteta has infused his teachings with that of Diego Pulis and decided that shit housing and set pieces will do the rest.

It still baffles me how players can actually find any inspiration to play for this guy. He comes across as devoid of any real personality yet also has an arrogance that would suggest he has won as many trophies as Pep.Arteta comes up with a plan, teams learn it & that’s why their points tail off. Pep’s point about the team growing throughout the season shows why ours increase.
Were you not inspired by the lightbulb speech? It still baffles me how players can actually find any inspiration to play for this guy. He comes across as devoid of any real personality yet also has an arrogance that would suggest he has won as many trophies as Pep.
You'd have a point if Arsenal weren't currently top of the table in both the Premier League and Champions League. We don't know how the season will pan out but if you'd asked me at the start of the season if I'd take the current situation then I'd have bitten your hand off.Arteta comes up with a plan, teams learn it & that’s why their points tail off. Agree with you re your requirements (not a priority) but I do think this 'supported 'x' as an 8 year old is really tenuous, Liverpool / Man utd / and Arsenal fans often state this but most of the time is so irrelevant to the mind of a professional. Many players move across the divide as well... Pat Jennings, Peter Barnes, etc...Re Semenyo. He's a superb player but we have so many recent attacking signings plus the youngsters that I don't think it makes any sense to try and sign him.
Semenyo is an Arsenal fan btw so the chances that he'd ever have joined Spurs (more likely to be a starter there than at City) were zero. And you'd be off your tits to sign for the Rags ahead of City. Chelsea supposedly interested but they seem to view their players as commodities so unless he is hell bent on moving to London he simply has to join City for the sake of his career.
Also Merry Xmas! Hope everyone has a great one.
There is. We've been there and done it (multiple times) whereas you have shown yourselves as bottlers. You'd have a point if Arsenal weren't currently top of the table in both the Premier League and Champions League. It's not like any of the top 3 are firing across all cylinders currently. Arsenal flopped across the line vs Brighton, City struggled at times (and needed a late winner) against a Forest team that's 4th from bottom and Chelsea should have been out of sight against Villa. Nothing currently indicates any one team has a huge advantage over any other.
He does have a point though because what he has described has happened to you several times over the last few years. You'd have a point if Arsenal weren't currently top of the table in both the Premier League and Champions League. The great thing about football is that there's many different styles and ways to win games, and how we view the game is often down to the individual.
Wenger got many plaudits for his style of play, but the Wenger teams in the 2nd half of his reign tended to be soft as shite, and that wasn't much fun to watch when Fergie was putting 8 last us or Mourinho was putting 6 past us.
There's actually plenty people out here that didn't like the Spanish / Pep way of playing that seemed to be death by 1000 passes at times and found little joy watching that. I personally found it fascinating.
I think our 'lack of creativity' is sometimes overblown. The last 4 games we have had 78 shots, and over 9 xg. It's our finishing that's let us down in these games, not our creativity.
That you Sav?Saka seems to be very poor at present. I have watched a couple of recent Arsenal games on TV and was surprised how poor he was…especially with the final pass.
I think Areta has major flaws which will prevent Arsenal from winning the title. He is over emotional and over cautious in the biggest matches. He has shown no signs of overcoming these personal weaknesses. There is also a strange needy culture in the fanbase which works against them. You can smell the desperation. Villa are the opposite. They are playing with no fear and have nothing to lose. Perhaps they don’t have the squad to do it but they will Mount a serious challenge. It still baffles me how players can actually find any inspiration to play for this guy.
