Not a replacement or cover for Gonzales then but could be great cover for Silva. Hopefully this means the club think that Rodri will be able to play a significant part of the season otherwise Nico will be run into the ground

Paqueta makes sense as an extra body in centre of midfield being able to do what Berny can, but I thought you were implying he would come in as cover for Nico until Andersen is signed in the summer

Foden can't start in every game. It's inevitable that Cherki starts centrally in some games. Would be interesting to try him at 10.

If he is better there, Pep will have a decision to make about how to play Foden. Starting Foden at 8 is a genuine option (but arguably not in the most difficult games). For now, Foden centrally and Cherki on the right is the best bet.
