I don’t rate him particularly highly but you wonder if the club think we might need a known quantity to succeed Pep, potentially in the interim whilst we line up the next guy.

I expected Viana to have somebody more left field in mind.

Yet there's no talk of Kompany being unsettled in his current role, his current employers being anything other than happy with him, or any kind of informal talks between Kompany and City regarding a potential role.

If we park the romantic notion of Vinnie coming home to lead our charge to world domination, there are no serious links out there to suggest he's in line to replace Pep.

I'm not on board with Maresca being the one, despite the links and recent stories.

There’s no real talk of a vacancy at City yet either, if this time next season Pep hasn’t extended, then we should start hearing talk of successors.

I honest believe Kompany would jump at the chance to manage City when Pep goes back to Barcelona.

Kompany is a front runner but I can't see an affinity to us being as big a deal as some think.
It may be to you and me but our board will pick who they think is the best/ most suitable.
It will be interesting to see how this all develops.

Pep is going nowhere, it's just a desperate attempt by desperate journalists to piss Pep off and try and make him unsettled. I have never seen so many journalists at the previews of our upcoming matches actually saying to him"when are you going". It's unbelievabley rude to the greatest coach of all time.
