Injuries 2025/26 | Rodri back in “partial” training

The decision to keep Ake and Stones at the expense of Akanji will be seriously tested now.

Having two injury prone CBs was a big reason why we had a poor season by our standards, as normally available players were overplayed and got injured as well. Gvardiol was overplayed too.

If we have another unsuccessful campaign due to injuries to CBs, then someone at the club (I'm sure it wasn't Pep, as he said many times he wants fit players), has made a serious mistake.

Let's hope we sign Guehi and he is an instant success.

He allowed multiple late/raking challenges to go unpunished which gave Chelsea licence to kick lumps out of us. This is why Palmer felt he could clatter Gvardiol on the touchline and avoid punishment. Reece James also got away with at least 4 potential YC offences, so yes. it was.

So what’s the plan then?

Do we act like Scousers now and send death threats to the Chelsea player he accidentally collided with or do we just move forward like normal people and wish Josko all the best at this difficult time for him.

In the case of my son’s friend, the screws/metal will stay. Although he’s not an elite athlete so who knows! His skate blade got stuck in the boards during a hockey game. A tough break, literally.

OMFG.

So sorry to hear that. Wishing your son a complete and speedy recovery!

Wasn't it Palmer who tackled Gvardiol above the shin?

Mostly the latter, but with a soupçon of moaning about other fouls that didn’t cause an injury.
