Exeter City (H) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Forgot he was their manager.
Didn't Supermac develop a serious booze problem ?
A very good centre forward though.
Loved up here on Tyneside...
Yeh I think he did mate yeh, still remember my late dad telling me about the semi-final in ‘74, burnley battered newcastle by all accounts? Apart from “super Mac” scoring twice :)

Wtf is wrong with people, this from the bbc hys
I saw this comment on there, which is the complete opposite:

There are a lot of negative comments towards Man City in here. But as an Exeter fan I have a lot of respect for Pep putting out a proper side. It was a drubbing for sure and it was horrible, but I'd rather lose 10-1 to the best team in the world than lose 5-0 to an Under 21 side. Premier League clubs get loads of stick for fielding weak teams, so make up your minds!

massive credit to our academy, the talent we have created and nurtured is a sight to behold and absolutely the envy of the rest
i suspect the reason we were charged, we are creating a dynasty

score 10 and erling doesnt get one a quiz question for the ages

From today’s young Man City team, I saw more effort, desire, and passion than from many of the senior players who have featured this season. The youngsters played fast, brave, and entertaining football with real team spirit. Some senior players continue to slow the game down. Bernardo and Doku again showing too much individual play and not enough collective football.
You have to take the opposition into account mate.

Four academy graduates on the scoresheet today; Max, Rico, Nico and Ryan. Yes " it was only Exeter". But a great vindication of the work being done at the various age levels in the academy.
At this point pretty much any academy player that comes into the team never looks out of place. They have the technical ability, understand the system etc.

Obviously the physicality and mentality will determine whether they can truly make the grade, but I'm sure given opportunities a number of them would.

Absolutely fantastic to watch a stress free game and some academy lads starting and playing well. Rodri scoring is a bonus and Semenyo too, who looked like he'd been here for years. Made up for McAidoo scoring too, nice watching him celebrate with his family.
The one downer was Haalands performance which was pretty awful. Not sure if he's carrying an injury or not but he was very poor.

Listening to the game such a pleasure with all the Academy lads debuts and the Skipper young Rico, aided by young Nico! Dream debut for Tone Semenyo, looked like he was born to do it, well done lad.

Have to pay special tribute to Nathan Ake, not the hardest 45 he'll play, but he's always wanting to play for us, even when short of fitness and form. Others might have more skill than you Nat, but none has a bigger heart.
