Out of interest, should he sign and assuming we qualify, which central defenders would we register for the second stage of the Champions League?

So Guehi worried about game time when other defenders come back just tell him he is starting if you preform once if he comes he will settle in to the squad and play 40+ games no problem. If he left and wanted guaranteed time for ever then Liverpool would be the move for him..

I’ve changed from the just City now to Man City

I find if someone asks, "who do you support?" And my reply is "Citeh" they'll nine times out of ten follow that with, "which one? Leicester? Birmingham?" And you know then straight away it's someone you don't want to have a conversation about football with.

Yeah it’s pretty petty maybe I’ll change to Manchester CITY ;)

Very true, and it’s not like I don’t believe in him. I just think in his current state he would struggle with the physically in the league so I think it might be a stretch when some people expect him to slot straight into the XI from next season. Nobody knows, but he might very well be part of Peps long-term plans. Good for the club if that is the case.
Yeah, I get what you’re saying, but remember how skinny John Stones was when he first came in. He didn’t look built for the league at all at that point. Over time he filled out, got stronger, and learned how to handle himself physically.

That’s pretty normal for young players. As they get older, their bodies mature, they add muscle, and they just become more street wise in duels and contact. You don’t usually see the finished article at 20.

I get the concern about the physical step up, but Vitor Reis isn’t coming from a soft environment. The Brazilian top flight is a very physical league, matches played on tough pitches against aggressive and relentless strikers like Gabriel Jesus and Igor Jesus who don't stop hassling you all game. It’s proper battle hardened football.

Reis broke into a title contending Palmeiras side at just 18 and became a regular - which doesn’t happen unless you can handle yourself physically. He’s already shown strong physicality, aerial ability and strength in duels despite still developing - as per his statistics. He’s very tall at 6'2, wins plenty in the air, and doesn’t seem to shy away from contact. I know it was only Plymouth in the cup, but we saw him up against a tall, strong and powerful striker and he was more than capable physically.

So while there will always be an adjustment to Europe, he’s far from fragile even at his age.

Well, this must be awkward for those on here this week that said he wasn't that good and to fuck him off...

I don’t understand anyone saying he isn’t good enough he is so good on the ball reading the game. Think still long way to go to get him because palace still want silly money
