United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I can remember:
Bernardo Silva header from Semenyo cross
Semenyo shot wide
Alleyne header
BSilva near post miss from Semenyo pull back

The others were probably blocked efforts.

Didn’t Lewis twat one over too near the end? I was half interested by that stage though so may be wrong.

Thankfully the guy next to me left early.
He talked all the bloody time and came out with lots of nonsense.
One quote is that it was his 97th derby and he’s hoping to get to 100.
Had any one got any facts for this ?
I’ve been to lots ( yet nether counted) cos I’ve got a life outside of city .
I’ve been season ticket for 52 years, I would say he was in his early 60’s, was he just talking crap ?

I’m having trouble calming down from this one, much easier to accept a defeat when I think we’ve actually tried.
Funnily enough I’m the opposite. The writing was on the wall early on, it was just a matter of when and how many.

I was far more wound up last season after that late loss down to Nunes’ brain farts after we’d played them off the park for most of the game and not got further ahead.

The only implosion was today. We should have won the other three games but did not take our chances. Today, we had virtually no chances and conceded for too many; also made too many mistakes.
So says every fan of every team that fails to win.
Your apologist essay is littered with excuses.
This isn't the first time utd have played this way against us. I despair at how we expect a different result when we do the same things.
Today was a cowardly performance. Its like going back 20 odd years and hoping we can go there and get a draw. But, what's even worse is that back then we actually had a go at scoring. Today was pitiful.
We were shamed by that game.

no issue with that tbf, having been to the swamp many a time and always stayed to the end win or lose, today was our most embarrasing defeat to them even.
surpassing the 5-0.

I completely understand why many wanted to be away

I fucked off with 5 to go, if I was still there we would still be doing the sum part of fuck all

Can’t get over just how bad that was. No fight, no character and no tactics. That was an embarrassment from the whole side other than Donnarumma.

Not good enough. No win in 4 PL games.

Pathetic from so many of them. Absolutely infuriating to watch. In the middle of a fucking title race by the way.

No urgency, body language poor all round. Players walking around, not getting back. Piss poor and if Pep has the audacity to say we played well then it’ll be yet another nail in his quickly-closing coffin IMO.

Poor results are fine. I guess. But poor performances aren’t. And it’s been consistently shit for weeks.

I’d be gleeful if that was the last time I see some of those again in a City shirt.

They should’ve been down to 10 men anyway but I doubt that would’ve made a difference. We’re so tepid, so predictable and we’re a dream for teams to play against because of how we set up.

It’s tactical suicide from Pep and even worse when you consider he never fucking changes. Quickly becoming a dinosaur tactically IMO.

And if he continues to pick his favourites then the sooner he goes the better. The only way he won’t play Ake is if he’s not here. Same with Bernie. Same with Gundo last season.

Keeping Ake on instead of Alleyne is enough for serious questions to be asked. Ignorant the fact he can’t run and has been shit for over a year, he’s just come back from injury and played 90 minutes midweek as well. And Pep then wonders why players get injured. He overplays them and it fucks them and then us.
I thought Bernie battled and Semenyo showed glimpses.
No use having 2 great strikers if you can't ping one in to either of them.

Pep and Bernardo saying the rags had more energy. Why?? What the hell do we do in training?

I can take a loss but from the kick off they played like they'd lost already.

I think it's also time to ask if Foden should be largely a substitute or sold and someone much more consistent brought in instead?

I was born in 87 and I can’t remember a game where I feel like we’ve been as badly dominated and beaten at the swamp.

When you consider some of the drops we’ve had over the years it was such a painful watch, this is not a post to be dramatic and say the world has ended, my frustration is that we were so passive and had a lack of effort, desire and will to win.

We’ve been beaten by much better teams through my childhood but today genuinely felt like at 6-0 loss.

My hope is that this is the same as the cup game against Southampton a couple of years back where Phillips signed his fate with pep. That loss in the manner it happened ignited a fire that made us champions!

We need a better midfield.

Rodri still coming back from a long term injury. Bernardo can only run so much.

But it's Foden that needs benching or shipping out and we can't put up with Doku having two good performances a season.

The team has become completely reliant on goals from Haaland.

Doku has played better this season on the whole but his goal return is dire.

Foden just irritates the fuck out of me. He will be on the bench after that.
