Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Where to start with that.

The team selection was baffling - a one footed left back at right back, a poor right back acting as our midfield fulcrum and our playmaker.
Big players hiding from the ball; our squad being outworked all over the field. Our captain throwing in an utterly idiotic red card.

Big players - yes you Erling, Phil, Rodri - just not showing up at all or making anything like the required contribution. Goals being simply given away by Sunday league defending.

As an aside Haalands performances since the West Ham game have been absolute dogshit.

Bodo genuinely could've scored 6 tonight and it wouldn't have flattered them. As appalling as Saturdays showing was, that was actually worse. Thoroughly outfought and outplayed.

Can't wait for the manager to moan about fixture congestion when they've just played themselves into 2 extra European games. The club owes refunds to all the Blues that travelled all that way to see that "effort" from the club.

Saturday: Terrible, we can’t possibly be any worse.

Today: Hold my beer.

Truly fucking awful. If we’re planning for life after Pep, may as well start now.

I would never call for Pep’s job. He’s earned the right to go out when and how he wants.

That said, I think it’s fair to wonder if time has run its course. I’ve always been in the camp that players matter a lot more than tactics—especially for us since the takeover, when more often than not our players have been much better than the opposition’s—but this is currently shambolic. We can’t press. We can’t play out from the back. The players look so disinterested and low on confidence that it’s fair to wonder if he’s even lost the dressing room. I could go on and on.

Congrats to Bodo Glimt. Yes, they benefited from some errors of Max, but they attacked and defended a hell of a lot better than us, and we were fortunate not concede more.
