Wolves (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Make no mistake about it. We didn't play very well, again.

Though I did love that defensive effort at the end and the ensuing huddle between them. I thought Guehi had a good debut, and hopefully Marmoush's scoring gets him going and ultimately lights a fire under Haaland.
Thought we were ok first half, second was scrappy and a bit meh.

Having said that, there were some great individual performances, and brilliant moments from others.

Happy after the week we've had.

Dippers spend a fortune and way off the pace. Got done over this evening. Just shows what a colossal achievement 4 in a row was.

our rebuild still sees us top 2 and competing on four fronts and is quite unreal really.

Anyone who isn’t happy that we aren’t 15 points clear, winning 4-0 every week, thinks we are boring etc. should fuck off.

And here we are, 4 points behind after such a piss filled in here dramatic week.

Rag win tomorrow please
Yes. The last week has felt catastrophic and I suppose when you are dying for rags to win, it is pretty catastrophic.

They will revert to being completely retarded on the pitch tomorrow, you watch!

Just got back, thought NOR was excellent, and becoming some player. Semenyo’s goal was excellent, and the power and control of the shot that hit bar was going at some speed. Really unlucky. Thought Guehi had a good debut. Loved how when he played the ball forwards, he dropped back to receive the ball back if required. Very calm. Different characteristics but somehow Kompany like (intelligent player). Thought Nunes coming back from illness played well and a great assist. Cherki makes us tick. Rodri still getting up to speed and ball control. Marmoush good goal and performance. Bernie was everywhere. The way Pep celebrated those goals I think was more in relief. Back to showing his passion in the bench today. I don’t think any of the substitutions made any difference, and perhaps not needed, except for giving some players a rest. We are still very much a work in progress, not the most scintillating display. Add Anderson into the mix and we are building a good young side.

We played some alright football, mainly in the first half. Both goals were pretty decent, brilliant cross and finish for the first and great finish for the second. The defence looked quite solid. Guehi looks like he has slotted straight in.

I think we looked worse after the subs came on but overall it was a decent display and a good 3 points.

I'll take that.

Felt like a fairly routine win. Crowd were quiet, but I get that.
Wolves were dog shit though. Did they have a shot on target? Didn’t like their dirty tactics late on either.
Any win is a good win :)
Has it occurred to you that they didn’t get a shot on goal because we didn’t allow them one.

Wot!

Rag win tomorrow please

It's funny that we are in such a mess and struggling with injuries and Arsenal are flying ? Sometimes the problems are over hyped and the fans jump on the bandwagon,

The Premier League is the hardest league in world football, 10 teams are good enough for a top 4 place and 10 teams are so good on their own patch and can beat anybody, Yes City are in a transitional period and the rebuild will take more time, but the injuries again and the unbalanced squad keeps holding us up.

City are not far away and maybe this season will be another hard fight in trying to win the title, but again Arsenal still have to win the title because we are hanging on to them waiting for any slip ups

Great first half hour with high tempo although Wolves gave us a room to play.
Great ball out from Bernardo to right wang for the first goal and pleased for Marmoush.
Needed the second goal to feel comfortable.

Thought Guehi looked very assured and fitted in well.

Second half was lacklustre and constant fouls broke up any real rhythm.

Overall we looked very ordinary. I didn't gain much confidence about the Spuds game. We dont feel like title contenders.

And yet... here we are. Looking poor but somehow clinging on to a title chance.

Our points, averaging two per game, are better than the performances. These players are more comfortable playing in transition, yet we appear to have reverted to slow build up and maintaining possession. A work in progress and need a couple of midfielders who can dictate the tempo annd put their foot in to challenge for title.
