Seat Counters 25/26

The above was at Thursday morning.
Tickets available for Champions League game on Wednesday against Galatasary.

Level 0: 1,259

Level 1: 1,713

Level 3: Non are available - all greyed out.

Total: 2,972 tickets currently available (several areas on the planner have been greyed out i.e. CB Level 3, South Stand Level 3 and East Stand Level 3 - so this total figure is only a rough guide).

At least the bottom tiers are relatively full. The top ones will be sparse I think.

That Exeter attendance can't be correct.

This is gonna be brutal on Wednesday, I'm expecting a lot of empty seats, I think the club has taken tickets off sale to try and mask how patchy it might look

it’s going to be full of away fans as well
Also I have 3 tickets all bought on the cup scheme for me and the kids but won't be going as can't be arsed sitting in a ground full of Gala fans and city haven't responded to my email requesting confirmation that won't happen. So 3 more empty seats that will currently be showing as sold, and I won't be the only family making this choice.

I also emailed the club about potential issues, didn’t receive a reply. I’m going anyway, but don’t have kids with me.

The club definitely aren't helping here with their ticketing policies - Galatasaray excepted as the restrictions for that one are understandable - but regarding League Cup semis, we've often not sold them out. In fact, since the takeover the only one that I can recall being a sell out was the semi-final against United in 2010. We've actually had some crowds far worse than what the Newcastle attendance will be next week:

2009/10 - United. Att: 46,067 (Capacity was around 47,000 at the time but was classed as a sell out due to segregation, etc, reducing capacity
2011/12 - Liverpool. Att: 36,017
2013/14 - West Ham. Att: 30,381 (Interestingly, there were only 31,547 at the Sunderland v United semi the night before)
2015/16 - Everton. Att: 50,048
2017/18 - Bristol City. Att: 43,426
2018/19 - Burton Albion. Att: 32,089
2019/20 - United. Att: 51,000 (United didn't sell out the first leg either)
Anything above 45,000 will be decent for the Newcastle match given the timing and volume of matches we have played recently.

I’ve only just received my tickets , it was saying they were unsuccessful in getting money from my account , why I don’t know why , I rang up and they said oh it’s just a technical hitch … absolute shambles our ticket office .

Why TF is Newcastle restricted sale? If there is a history of not selling out the semi final I can guarantee you especially on a weeknight we’d sell another 5000 easily.

There are many people who cba with any type of membership scheme but would happily buy tickets on more of a whim when they’re sure they’re in the clear to spend a night watching us live.

I've just gone on the website, why the fuck are tickets £35!

The club knew full well that they were going to need to put heavy restrictions on tickets, surely they could've made the tickets cheaper to try and persuade a few more locals with purchase history to go

For Champions League matches, we need the tourists to fill the ground. It puts some of us off, but I think we need to accept it.

It’s a novelty for Newcastle and Villa when they play in it, but I’m pretty sure that it’s the same for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, United, Liverpool. Yes, United and Liverpool have huge fanbases, but their stadiums are tourist destinations and will make up a serious chunk of their crowds. Remember Spurs playing at Wembley - no way that was filled with their own fans.

I’m similar. Partly because I can’t afford it and I’ve decided to go to the Newcastle game instead, but also because I don’t want to be sat surrounded by away fans. I had that against Celtic a few years ago and it was crap.

Dynamo was a Europa League match. I also think it may have had a teatime kick off.
