Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Enough of the fucking revisionism that we weren't good in the first half. Yes we were. One of our best performances of the season, really comfortable with the ball, pressing high, only negative was not scoring more than 2. The issue was the second half and particularly, the response to their first goal.
Oh no we weren't

I get that we are obsessed by keeping the ball even though we don’t have the creativity ATM to do anything with it but when we need a win with a few minutes left, rather than pass the ball sideways and backwards and then give it away, I have a cheeky suggestion for our manager.

How about letting Semenyo chuck the ball on top of their keeper and perhaps creating a chance to score. We’re not Set Piece FC but we’re obviously not Plan B FC either. We had at least 2 opportunities to give it a go in the added on time but just kept doing what we had been doing all second half expecting something to change - the classic definition of madness.

Look, if you are running the team with an iron fist and not allowing the players to take the piss then i would agree
with you, but Pep is slacking and dropping the hard rules and letting players get away with murder,

You don't leave in the run-up to a big game because you feel your support is needed to help a political cause
It sends the wrong message to everybody

Fuck that....kids being killed is way more important...he can leave with my full support EVERY WEEK if it's for that reason....at least Pep is showing more bollicks than most people who are famous and gave influence.

Football ain't that important and I include Manchester City FC in that....

FfS!!!!!!!!! This is a low blow/ shite irrelevant excuse even by the average football fan standard.

We need to be better tgsn this or the world is more fucked than I thought

The other team also takes some responsibility with how we play, fans tend to forget this.

First half we were good partly because they were shit, I mean really really shit.

Second half they looked good because we were really really shit.

Overall two poor teams playing a poor game of football, the ref and bar also very poor.

Pep has even been publicly praising some of our terrible performances during our November-December 2024 run. Can't take it seriously anymore. Nothing will change as long as Pep is that easy to please.

Donna. Superb
Oreilly. Having a poor time atm
Ran not good enough defensively
Nunez just ok
Berni past it now, caught out for pace but does try
Rodri injury has killed him too slow
Nico not good enough
Reijnders not top level
Foden lost confidence
Haaland has no service so looks disinterested
Semenyo and Guihi will be good
Cherki. Goo
Kusonov. Good

Always been glass half empty and not liking what I am seeting

City's fanbase is now really soft and entitled. That's what bothers me more than anything else.

It was very disappointing not to win but 2-2 at Spurs is not a disaster. The game went against us and yes we should have done better but the Football Gods were also loaded against us.

We're hardly the only ones ...... if Arsenal had of only drawn 2-2 at Leeds yesterday their fans would have been right on their backs, but their side was professional and resilient enough to see the job through, despite their loss last week ..... we didn't display either professionalism or resilience in that 2nd half today, in fact we we were gutless, unorganised, and pretty appalling .

Cherki is an enigma. Sets to deceive. Hence why he is getting bollocked off Pep. He really needs to up his work rate. Very flat performances throughout the team.

Time for change mate, nothing will change if Pep stays until the end of the season. Liverpool next week could be the game to pull the trigger

I think it's coming before the Liverpool game, if the truth be told
A statement this week by the club that Pep is to leave at the end of the season will relight the fire and fight

Not sure what the hell that 2nd half performance was, but the players didn't seem that arsed anyway.

Sleepwalked into the 2nd half, with no urgency, no edge and nowhere near the commitment required to be in any title race.

A pathetic, soft, limp and rudderless effort allowing a frankly poor side to hang around and giving them every encouragement to come back in the game.

We look like we have no leaders out there and had 3 or 4 hiding from the ball. Talk of a title push is frankly quite laughable. Haaland again absolutely junk, Semenyo - bar his goal - terrible, Rodri 2 yards off it and the subs added nothing. Far too many soft arses in this squad I'm afraid and oh for a Fernandinho in the central area to add some bite. It pains me to say it but we are soft. We are also as close to United as we are to Arsenal in the table. A sobering thought for the club that's won 1 in the past 6 league games, and will fold and shit themselves at Anfield next week.

Play like that on Weds and Newcastle are in with a real chance. You simply can't trust this team atm.
Otherwise ok?

It's sad to see a manager who is the best in the world just lie down and take this shit
Lost his mojo. You can see he is far too passive now and not the pep of old. Let him go on to get involved in the protest work. Coming from political speeches to playing a game of football must seem unreal at times. The football bubble compared to real life problems. No wonder he lost his mojo.

Need to make the change in the summer. Yes we probably will be just as shit. I don’t want to watch pep going down like this. It’s sad.

Apathy has set in and we need to think about the club now. Not its manager and not its players. Khaldoon has a tough decision to make. Pep has ran out of steam. He did brilliantly to keep going at city for so long.

As I said, it’s sad to see players putting in these types of performances with pep in charge.

Complacency has set in.

Shame it’s over. Love the man. Will always appreciate what he did for city during 115 more than winning any trophy.

Liverpool are going to walk all over us next weekend and I have a feeling Newcastle will also fancy their chances.

I feel like Pep is shackling the players with the tippy tappy sideways passing. We played much more direct at the start of the season and have reverted to sideways football again.

It must be all at Pep's door ? He's allowing this to happen and players are getting away with doing fucking nothing
The Club need to now say ok Pep maybe its time
Totally mate, we’ve lived the dream with pep, I never in my lifetime thought I’d see football like we’ve been so lucky to have witnessed, but we’ve become stale this last two yrs it’s painfully obvious yet pep does nothing to change things, I think this will be his last season & being honest I think it’s time for a change
