Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Is this truth or wishful thinking.

Something has got to happen because this can not be right
We are talking about the best manager in the world letting this happen to one of his teams

Look, it can work both ways. Pep comes out and says I am signing a new 3-year contract and putting a stop to all the rumours, Or Pep comes out and says he is leaving in the summer

Matey at one point in the first half i thought my stream had frozen. We were that slow
it was so frustrating ,when Spurs lost the ball in the half way line and instead for our players to storm forward ,they start passing it around and slow down. Jesus ,go on and score 4 goals and the game is done...

2-2 at Spurs is not a disaster

It was an absolute must-win game, if — if — the team is considering itself in serious contention for the title. If we're going for top four and CL qualification then, no, it's no disaster.

It's not great though — that Spurs team does not have a single player fit to lace Son or Kane's boots when they were at their best. Fourteenth in the table does not lie, nor last year's even worse position.

I do. Very much. They're actually better to watch at present than the men.
But if your point is that this isn't the thread to be mentioning, still less celebrating, that, then you're absolutely right.
It was posted in here (with the acknowledgment upfront that it probably wouldn’t provide consolation) exactly because it might provide some positive news, some crumbs of light, for those who had been following the men’s match on what is clearly a grim afternoon. If I’d posted it on the women’s post match thread it would have been a bit pointless because readers of that thread would already be aware of the women’s. It’s not like I’ve come on to celebrate another club winning a match.

It’s called transition Fordy. It was always going to happen and it’s happening now. It takes 2, 3 maybe 4 years. If we can win a cup or two in that time then that’s a superb effort and shows we are being sensibly ran, unlike many other top teams. It’s just how it is - and the players know it. Let’s see how many start around. Most people haven’t got the patience for it in this modern era. I’m far more inpatient than I’ve was before I got hooked to my mobile phone, just like everyone else of my era is. It must be a nightmare for the younger ones who know nothing else. Is going to take a long time, if ever to get to dominance again. And I don’t know if many of our fans have the patience for. We’ll see. On the game, there’s defo something missing with Pep nowerdays. We used to get better as the game went on because of him, now we sneaks seem to get worse. That’s the worrying thing for me
We beat Spurs 2 nil and I guarantee the transition word doesn't get used.

Bet you were rubbing your grubby little hands together knowing you could have a night of moaning like fuck.
We have only beaten Wolves at home in the last 6 games. Would you prefer him to wait til next week after we get beat instead?

100 Million percent Pep leaving in the summer
Dias nearly let it slip when he got injured ? He said we still have the project to fight for ???

This is the right time for the club to release the statement that Pep is to leave in the summer
it will bring everybody together and the players will have to show fight because the fans will want to send Pep on his way with silverware
Didn't work for Pellegrini. Suspect it won't be announced until his replacement is lined up.

Would love us to win some silverware, but considering our away record and general apathy, I don't see it. Feels like another season of drifting and then whatever comes next season with transition under whoever. Just hope there's a plan behind the scenes.

WTF was that 2nd half performance City!!!

We could've thrashed spurs in the 1st half, but we didn't!
We could've finished them off, but didn't match them when we surely knew they'd give it a go in the 2nd! We not only paid the price, but barely gave a shit about it until the end.

The attitude and application from too many players was a fucking joke and some need to take a hard look at themselves.

I am so pissed off at that 2nd half!!!

That was unacceptable from the manager's/coaches and almost every player who played!

I'm giving Bernardo and Donnarumma a pass, as they were brilliant!

The rags and the dippers had to wait around 20 years and some are still waiting. Lets hope the sheikh doesn't that happen.

No one has seen anything cause they (VAR) haven't everything no lines or fog

Nothing they just when to put the wool over our eyes and go "Yep that's fine deal with it"

Forget blaming VAR or the officials, that 2nd half was nothing to do with them
You're chasing the title 2.0 up away to a very poor Spurs side and turn off and wave the white flag

How did you cope in the 1980s and 1990s?

Weak.
I coped just fine, i'm ok if the Pep years are never achieved again, no side stays at the top forever.
Standards have dropped at the club, maybe this is what happens to every club who has dominated in the way we have, maybe it's just the natural way of things, sad as that is.
I was probably over the top with my post but fucking up against Spurs still smarts like a bitch.
People expecting this squad of players to play like a great Pep side are a little naïve imo, this squad pf players isn't a patch on previous sides, maybe we were just luckier with players previously, or we might have just taken our eye off the ball.
Look, we all love this club & many of us lived through the darker times but we are a different beast now as a club.
Anyway, enough of my bollocks, hopefully we'll be a different team when we have a more or less full squad to choose from, the future can still be sky blue or whatever fucking colour shirt we'll be wearing next ha

Time for a managerial change whether it's now or at the end of the season. Performances not improving stale as fuck to watch and that just summed it all up today, no fight. I don't think Pep has got these players on board anymore and he's always said that's when he'll call it a day
Sack Pep now?

I want what you're smoking

Yesterday Arse were 2-0 up at HT away at Leeds & went on to win 4-0. Elland Road right now is a much tougher place to go than Spuds. This City squad just doesn't have it on them to win the PL IMHO.

I dont think we (fans) have become soft and entitled. I think we have evolved and started to believe in ourselves and our team more than ever. Of course we have watched crap for many years and we learned to accept it. Why should we revert to that? We are supposedly a top European club now. We are supposedly managed by one of the all time great managers. It isnt unreasonable of us to expect better performances than we have seen recently.

We cant win everything. There are always going to be times when there are better sides around but let's not blame the fans for showing their frustrations... its a passion we dont seem to be seeing on the pitch recently.
