Is the league, for want of a better word, ‘bent’?

I've thought for quite some time that VAR has been weaponised.... It's too easy for them

The officials (all of them) should be heard verbatim in real time... there would be nowhere to hide then
It’s CSI for some incidents and eyes wide shut for others depending on the narrative of the day. All clubs claim bias but with us they constantly go back to Rodri’s (already offside) handball at a stadium that is PL no more

We need to make sure the players start saluting magpies, don't break any mirrors or walk under any ladders. Maybe our luck will change.
No just surround the ref and kick off to fuck, no more interviews by Pep or anybody they can all fuck off. I’ve seen us have some right wankers reffin us since 1972, but this season is without doubt a new high level of bullshit.
There’s no way PL are going to allow us to win the title again until they’ve have their arses slapped over the 115 charade. Investigate and bring down the whole shitshow, we have enough money to do it so get on with it.

Examine the incidents in question, which is what most on here are doing and it’s clear that the very least we have suffered some horrendous mistakes that have cost us points Each one can be compared to a virtually exact example that was ruled differently with in a very short space of time

Today the first Spurs goal was allowed despite it being a foul they credited it as an OG until they relaxed that do so meant a foul then claim Solanke got the final touch Neutral fans on 606 said it was a foul Goals change games and that one encouraged Spurs
City players are flabbergasted at some of the decisions in games you can see it on their faces
it must be so disheartening to fight against
Mistakes I can agree with....all refs will make mistakes.

Id sort fo agree with the one you reference here in this game as well....it could easily have been give as a foul.

However what about Rodri not getting two yellows....there was also a call for that....you have seen them given as well in other games before.

My issue with the constant whining about refs is that you cannot control it.....you can only do what we can do as a team.....
We have to look at the team and how they played....thats what needs to change....we play better we win that game easily even id spurs get those two goals....
The other issue I have with it is that some fans are almost setting the scenario before it even happens...pre game....its like some sorf of fucking safety net for their minds just incase we do lose to have a ready made excuse at hand cause they just cant take it otherwise - and that is just fucking pathetic

The players have to find a way to deal with it without it affecting performances.

Us supporters dont and whether we whine about the refs, or pretend theres nothing jas exactly 0 impact on the teams performances.

Thanks. You seem to go all in on anyone who doesn’t hold your view.

Slippery slope, Phillip
Depends how they put it across. Loads of times I've changed my mind on further reflection on a multitude of subjects both on here and real life.
I'm happy to wait and see on this one though, impossible to prove one way or another. For now I'll go with us being on the wrong end of as many decisions we do because of an unconscious bias towards our club from the years of shit thrown at us from all and sundry.
What I don't accept is people lazily saying it's only because we've been shit that we are complaining about refs.

the real watershed moment was the rashford decision.

That was honestly the worst bent decision I have ever seen in my life, and I’ve seen some absolute fucking howlers.

Since then VAR has been weaponised In two ways: “how do we NOT give the beneficial decision here” for some teams and “how DO we give the beneficial decision here” for teams others.

People that think we are just bad are naive. It’s no surprise it’s getting increasingly worse the more American presence there is in the league.

Complaining about refs is 50% of fan discourse these days. Mostly from an over emotive position.

Having a thread on the whole league being bent is a different ballpark and whilst it may seem like this when we feel screwed over, there’s zero evidence that it is.

People literally post about the appointed referee seconds after they’ve been announced for every match in order to create a narrative that everything is bent. That’s not healthy.

Then there are others who’ve repeated for nigh on a decade that it’s only a matter of time before the corruption is outed. Well…

Shit decisions happen all the time. We remember the ones against us and the ones that go in favour of our rivals.

It’s the nature of being a fan. It doesn’t make it true though.

Every interpretation of the LOTG & financial governance rules have been manipulated to try & stop City & they couldn’t get away with it without a compliant & corrupt media.

They are all cunts!

Weird thing is they’ve done this to the biggest star in football, Haaland would be getting 50 goals a season in a fair league & would have had the same effect as Jordan on the NBA & had tv deals tripled.

Rodri is out fuming about the ref/var which is not like us at all. 3/4/5 games, can’t keep count now how many decisions have went against us with no apology just blatant lies from the league and its refs.

They are now coming after us on the pitch and pushing hard. Maybe they have always been at it but due to our declining dominance and increased reliance on technology it’s easier to manipulate results.

Perfect to pick a new winner every now and again.

So yes we are currently not great but we are also getting screwed due to football politics.

Getting beat by a better team on the day is fine. No sour grapes here. Rags were better than us as were bode but in the rag game we again had a big call go against us. It’s every fucking game now. Where is the fairness?

Fucking shitshow. Red wankers.

It is bent, you ain’t allowed to say so otherwise they make you out to be a raving lunatic. Pep is being portrayed as such now and Rodri, Bernie the week before.

Most people will agree with the systematic brainwashing on show and revert to playing it safe saying we are nuts and looking to blame someone for our own poor performances. The bubble needs to remain intact. It couldn't possibly be rigged, up there will flat earth and aliens. Get them locked up, quick. The majority will always win.

Need to get a deal done with the league over 115 and hope the corruption ends.

Well they say var gets more right than wrong
I wonder if there’s any actual evidence of this or just words, I mean almost all decisions can be subjective.
Take the geuhi own goal/foul safe to say we all think it’s a foul as his leg is kicked from
Behind so how come the ref and var who can micro manage that incident say it’s a goal
Surely they can see he’s kicked, is this one of the decisions they claim they get right ?
So in that sense no they cannot prove they get more right than wrong.
Bent I don’t think so but massive incompetence with the ability to bail dodgy refs decisions out then I’d say definitely.

Get some fucking well paid footballers to knock the ball between the white sticks and there none of this shite,Job done

There are no two exact incidents.

The players were coasting.
Why can't people understand, that us playing crap, and the refs being utter wank, are two separate issues?

It's not that difficult to understand surely?

This thread is about the refs and var generally favouring our opponents, which they do. It's got fuck all to do with our shit performances but about the shit performances of the officials who officiate our games.

It's self flagellation for some, we played shit, so we deserve to be officiated like shit.

The thing is, they are separate issues, and also not separate issues. Yes, our form is off, and that is a physical and mental issue with the players before they even cross the white line, but, and it's a huge but, this is partially down to the way we are being officiated week-in-week-out.

The disparity in decision making by the officials and the fact that in certain games, opposition players have been allowed (in the infamous words of Danny Murphy) 'leave on in' on our players, who subsequently have to go off injured affects our players physically, and not only that but how they approach the game.

Our style of play under Pep has always been fast, clinical and instinctive passing back to front. When you are having to second guess the twat in charge, being fucked over by VAR or players expect the opposition to go in hard with impunity it hinders it hinders them massively. We had a couple of seasons where we were able to negate it, but not so much these days and it shows in our results.
