The 2nd part of Pep's pre-match press conference is now out.

He puts the recent wobbles down to defensive injuries i.e., Gvardiol and Dias going out but he says that Khusanov has done very well.

I'd agree, the moment Dias and Gvardiol went down our form turned for the worse.

Whilst I agree it's a long way to go, we haven't threw a single punch in this title race. Winning here I think would be the first time Arsenal go 'oh wait'. We'll have played United, Spurs and Liverpool away and kept the gap the same. Anymore than 6 imo is too much for this team to close.

All that said I think we'll get beat today, I also thought that at Arsenal though, hope I'm wrong.

To win at Anfield would certainly be a 'statement of intent' to Arsenal that we aren't quite done in this title race just yet , and even more so should we also manage to send Fulham packing next Wednesday night ..... but this is a fairly unpredictable city side , and we can't be sure of anything with them.

Trips to Anfield always used to be hugely stressful when we were going head-to-head for the title, but I'm a bit more relaxed about today knowing that the league has probably gone. Looking forward to seeing how we perform, and hoping we show a bit of grit and character like the Arsenal away performance, and not the turgid displays we saw at Old Trafford and Spurs recently.

Won't happen, of course, but I wouldn't be averse to a bit of a formation tweak for this one and a back three with Nunes and O'Reilly (or Ait-Nouri) as wingbacks and Cherki as a 10.

Worth remembering that Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley have all taken points there fairly recently, whilst Forest, PSV, Palace and United all won at Anfield this season. It's not exactly the fortress it used to be.
