Could be a turning point for us. We should be bouncing after that win. Hopefully, Erling will feel better about himself and start doing what he’s always done, we are also recovering some key players and Rodri is getting fitter. I still think the League is a big ask (although they have form for bottling) but I feel a possibly unwarranted optimism for the champions league this year and we have two domestic cups to go at.

Had we lost today, I think we would be discussing the rebuild and how it takes time, and some of our more hyperbolic posters would be planning for Pep’s departure and slagging off that ‘donkey that wears number 9 (check the matchday thread!). Thankfully, none of that came to pass and we won’t also have to suffer the indignity of deluded rags next week. Really think today was massively timely for the mood of the club and fans.

I admire the optimism for some on here - but the league is long gone and anybody thinking otherwise is delusional.

One win in six games and that against the worst team in PL history is the reality.

Let’s hope Pep sorts it out quickly and we can be competitive for what will be a close fight for the top 5 places.

I said last week after Wolves that we need at least 4 points from Spurs and Liverpool to stay in it going into a slightly friendlier run of fixtures.

Well we’ve done exactly what I asked for. We’re well in this. I have high confidence that Arsenal will drop 3 points before they come to our place, it’s just a matter of whether we can turn the screw.

if you want to win the league you have to go and make a statement at some point of the season. There is no bigger statement in the competition than going away and winning at Anfield.

We have taken 6/6 points from the champions

Arsenal have taken 1/6 points from them

Today was massive. We now have the chance to go 3 points behind Arsenal before they travel away to an in form brentford.

Majority of our tough away fixtures are now behind us as well. Only Chelsea left I think. We have a serious opportunity to do this now.

It was a big win, great result..but lets have it right..not a premier league winning performance....i think Slott is right with Guehi decision, we were quite lucky there..bot on other foot we'd be shouting for a sending off

I’ve got little faith in this team to win the league, we’ve had so many opportunities since Christmas to put proper pressure on Arsenal.

But, season starts here. Still in all competitions, doing ok with injuries and that kind of win should put doubts in Arsenals minds.

I disagree. The lads will be absolutely bouncing after that. And arsenal and lego head will be very deflated. They would have expected to be 8-9 points clear right now.

We have already proven earlier in the season we can string a run of form together and we have some kind fixtures coming up that could allow us to do it again.
