The FOC thread.

Let's play a game. Name the players, from left to right, back row first.

I'm old enough to remember who they should be, but I'm struggling to recognise most of them.

I'll guess 2nd on the left on the top row is Colin Bell and Bobby Moore is two doors away to his left, but other than that, nothing.

Come on now. Back row has Shilton and Bremner in the middle. Muller next to Bremner. Hurst (?) To the left of Shilton and is that Venables next to Mullery ? I'm thinking Franny on the front row, third from right and George Eastham (maybe) to the right of him. And Best the one with the hair in the middle of the front row (?). And (maybe) Bob Wilson extreme right. I suspect its more to do with the quality of the modelling than our memory.

A generation from now will struggle with the Etihad statues.

If you are a male FOC with an enlarged prostate, read on. Otherwise ignore this, it gets messy.
I take Tamsulosin which is a muscle relaxant commonly used to relieve the symptoms of an enlarged prostate.
Before I took it I was waking up three or four times a night requiring a pee. Once prescribed, that became once per night which was acceptable..
Then the frequency increased and I was back at three times per night..
I decided to take a double dose of Tamsulosin. Not only did it work but it had an interesting side effect. Along with my prostrate trouble I suffered from constipation and bloating. After the double dose, I defecated five times in 24 hours. All normal, everything seemed to flow out of me, the bloating disappeared and I felt empty for the first time in ages. It seems the muscles relaxed and just let everything go. Great result. All still good a week later. Obvs I cannot recommend you do the same. It’s up to you.

Well, up to that point one a day was the best I could do and that wasn’t every day. Is 5 a day normal?
There is no normal.
I can do 5 before noon most days.
It’s changes in habits that flag up concerns.

Billy Bremner to the right of Moore?

The quality of the modelling is, indeed, shit. The one in the middle of the front row with the long hair looks more like Michael Fabricant, ex MP, than George Best.

Anyone remember these,
Busts of 16 top players available from Cleveland Petrol stations, my brother and I took it turns each to get them, couldn’t believe my luck when I got the Colin Bell one instead of Billy fucking Bremmner for the 3rd time running!View attachment 182285
Yep - Dad was travelling all over the place in the 70s and I was lucky to complete all these sets - including the fold-out one with 3d stickers for all 92 League clubs...

That fairly contrived Joe Mercer collection was a near thing, though - had all but one in no time, but had to wait until the end - when it was difficult to find a station with any left - before finally opening the packet to find Pat Jennings. A magical moment, I think that Dad was just as pleased as I was :-) .

Years later all my old collections re-surfaced in a loft and my partner, who was trading on eBay popped them on, for the hell of it.

Every one was snapped up by somebody in Brazil, who begged her to let him know directly if she found any more sets.

I'm quite impressed that you still have unopened spares, though.

Having owned the set, it was driving me mad, so I had to look them up. I won't post the answers, but they're here:

At least three that I'd never have remembered.
